I have an extra oem turbo sitting here waiting for you to work your magic on your setup. I can't wait to tap into some more power. :D Good luck!!
Absolutely, I'll be able to answer a lot more questions here in about a week on the turbo design, and in about 2-3 weeks I'll be able to start providing log files and installation process tips.
Also, I plan to write up a generic guide with pictures on how to replace a oem turbo with a hybrid for those who are less mechanically inclined but want to do it them selves.

There's also a drag strip about 8 minutes from me that I'll likely run the car at. I wouldn't mind getting some videos of it in action.

where you located. What area? Wouldn’t mind doing a video collaboration in future. Modded 2.0 vs QV. That’s the missing video IMO.

I'm in Dayton Ohio and I'd absolutely love to see how many car lengths a QV would gap me 😅

you never know. AWD wit power is no joke. Could be close. QV has to hook. Awd will always hook. Plus it’s good info. I can bring a stock QV also. Maybe meet in pitt. They have a track

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania? probably a bit to far. I'd go up to 3hrs from dayton ohio though.

Against a stock QV id bet with a Q4, LSD, with a hybrid turbo i'd probably get you more consistently in the 1/8th before running out of steam.

This car is easy to launch, its pretty much impossible to mess it up.

you put 400awhp to the ground it’s gonna be hard for a stock QV to beat you consistently. Yes top end will run out of steam but the WMI should add fuel if tuned right. We can figure out a place. I have no problems traveling.

Speaking of WMI, the kit arrives today.

Reading the details the smallest nozzle is 175ml, I'll probably need to go down to 100ml. Intake volume is a premium and I don't want to replace potential boost with it. On the hybrid I don't think it will matter as much.

Its something I'm going to have to play with as to much WMI will most certainly hurt performance.

Absolutely start small. Sometimes less is more. Can always adjust volume

Maybe.

You're right you get faults requesting more boost than the turbo can make with jb4.

With a different turbo you know longer get underboost faults bc the turbo can actually make what the jb4 is requesting.

If the new turbo can make 28psi at redline you just have to make sure youre not requesting 30psi. Just like if stock turbo can only make 22psi you will get fault requesting 24psi.

Not sure I've ever seen my logs show not making the required boost when triggering the CEL

I've peaked at 31psi a couple of times, and it's still alive. (JB4 MAP2) I just ran two pretty hard and hot track days at Road America, with a co-driver also doing sessions and the car was flawless. Last year with the GFB DV+, the car was a nightmare, and the weather was better than this year. It was throwing random intake / boost / throttle codes, going into limp mode, etc.
Knocking wood mine has been working well so far... it's been 2 years.

@Tekgnome I’m really excited to see your numbers after its done. We basically have the same car :)
I'm pretty confident in Nick to pop out a very aggressive hybrid turbo for us. That being said I don't plan on stopping until I can make 400whp so I'll continue to modify the Alfa until I can meet those goals. It won't happen overnight but the hybrid turbo is a good place to start. Hopefully I can help out the community while I'm at it.

FWIW, I've had the DV+ for over a 1.5yrs with zero CELs. Not sure if I'm lucky or not. Only CEL i've seen is every 6 months or so which I always knew was related to the W05 recall + EC intake. Just ordered a new venturi from EC to get that out of the way.

Stock 4 piston breaks are plenty, unless you're tracking. You may need to change shoes/rotors to get a bit more grip. Giulia has ventilation for the breaks which is great IMO, I've never noticed any fading wet/dry. I'm not a track guy, i'm more top-end type of guy so not unusual for me to break at high speeds and then repeat.

when all else fails just spray and pray. Throw a 50 shot on.

I'm going to have to hunt down pictures of my old Miata with a 50 shot 😅

Nitrous is fun but it's illegal to run on the street 🤧 I could always save it for trips to Mexico 🤷‍♂️

I'm not opposed to it though 🧐 Not sure how the programming would work with an automatic transmission. I've never used nitrous on a auto car. I would assume that you don't want to spray continuously and that it should pause during shifts.

Here is turbo install documents if needed. Pretty straight forward.
This is amazing, its going to take hours off the install. Its even complete with torque specs!

Thank you.

Hybrid turbo is not going to get you anywhere near 400whp
Maybe 400 crank with WMI, but that may be pushing it based on kozaks hybrid setup.
