It'll be ok. It's a pretty stout piece and should still sit ok.

oh for sure, same resistor. That button for the AS is a different pin, at least it should be.

Solders done on test knob and real knob. I don’t have a multimeter so I’m just going to hope everything is making contact. Tomorrow is MES time

Did you make sure to clip the one lead on the switch? I can't tell from the pic.

How do you enter the proxy alignment in MES????
I've been looking for half an hour..
EDIT: found it. Go in the Body module, select Adjustments and then Ctrl + Alt + C.

FWIW I compared selecting DNA knob to type 3 to original bytes and it changes only byte 88 from AC to EC. So it's the same thing as changing the byte manually.

Success.
One more Giulia has been released into the wild.

Controls are definitely off. Turn the wheel, stomp the gas and the rear goes!
I’m glad I got it done before the temperatures fall below freezing. Looking forward to have fun in the snow! ABS is still on which is a good thing.
I see you opted for ESC/FCW off instead of Race mode, it's a better option regarding what maps it uses. With my EC P1 tune it's great.

Yes. I did some testing in the office parking lot tonight...
A, N and D behave just as before. Once engaging race mode:

engine map seems to be D.
steering map in D.
pedal map in N.
suspensions seem to be the reported hard behind, soft front, until the suspension button is pressed then they go back to normal front and back. I don't think I mind as hard rear actually helps hooning.

The Q4 with perf/pack just has a ton of grip. For the first time, I was able to feel the front wheels clearly engaging. On the dry, it's difficult to upset even intentionally.. one rear tire starts losing, then the other rear tire engages, then the front... result is for a fraction of a second you think you are going to lose the rear but instead you are propelled like a rocket. When I got home, for the first time I smelled burnt rubber.. :)
ABS still works, funny thing is every time you engage it the message "ESC Unavailable" flashes on the screen which I never seen before.
I want to drive in race mode all the time now... It's just more real. I would only want the assist in very bad weather.

Pretty satisfied with my "hoon mode".
I might experiment with more combinations of the byte 88... there should be 256 different ones :)
Has anyone tried 0C, 1C ... 9C ? I think (A-F)C has been covered.

I believe that someone has and they don't work. Remember you're flipping individual bits by changing byte 88 to something other than AC. I believe that all we can mess with without fubaring other things are the 6th and 7th places (bold)

8C = 1000 1100 (messes things up I think, need to search race mode topics) You could test that if you feel adventurous. :D
AC = 1010 1100 (Default)
CC = 1100 1100 (Race mode)
EC = 1110 1100 (ESC / FCW off)

Does D mode still have dampers in medium level after this mod?

I know a vendor is selling the qv damper module so front and rear change to hard on R mode.
As stated by Il_Conte, it sets the rear to stiff and front to soft until you hit the damper button.

Even on D mode? I thought that was only on R mode
omg, it's early. I don't think it changes behavior for the other modes besides R. Sorry about the confusion.

Hoping the R soft/hard dampers can be adjusted without paying $475 to get the qv module. The current combo would induce understeer.
Hit the button and it does what you want.
