got mine delivered today at 10 am but finally now making my way home to get a start on the process.

I refuse to touch a Windows computer, so I guess I'll be the one to pave the way with running the software on a Mac.
WineBottler seems to do a good job of running ".exe" files on OSX and Linux. sooo... I'll check back in a few hours with my (success) report.

To anyone else trying to do this with a Mac...

There's absolutely no way to use the MyGenius software without running windows in some form.
HIGHLY recommend downloading "Parallels for Mac".
turned out to be a super easy process and had Windows 10 running in under 20 minutes.

(Don't even waste your time with WineBottler or any other type of Windows program runner. I spent hours trying to figure it out and can confidently say that Parallels is by far the quickest and easiest method.)

First Impressions

Just got back from a quick spin after flashing the ECU. First off, I definitely agree with comments about the car really wanting to keep going faster.

Not trying to say that it's not a decent upgrade, but my first impressions were a little bit less than perfect. I think the most important aspect of a tune for a car like this is the low-end gains, which I didn't feel much of tbh. It's not really until around 40mph that I began to feel any serious differences. After 40, it continues to pull hard which I'm sure is what lot's of people are looking for, but in a city like LA, it's not ideal. Doubt there's any more than a few milliseconds of improvement over the stock 0-60, a tenth or two at best.

As far as the numbers go, it doesn't quite feel like a 350hp/390lb-ft car. I've been driving my cousins 2016 C43 (362hp/384lb-ft) pretty often for the last few months and there's a pretty huge gap in the performance. I'd say it's more comparable to a BMW 340i (320hp/330lb-ft), which is a bit of a disappointment.

Hopefully, as the car learns the tune it gets better, but as of now, I'm still left wanting more.

Our normal intakes are V1, V2, and V4. We intend to use the V2 for Phase 2. In short, the product we suggest for Phase 1 will be just fine for Phase 2.
Does that mean we can be safe to assume that Phase 2 would work fine with a stock Giulia, just like Phase 1?

I really don't want to invest any more than I already have into a car I don't even own.

Once Phase 2 is completed we will be able to commit to an answer with whether it is possible to run the car in a stock form with Phase 2.
understandable, but I think that I as well as others would prefer to know something like this sooner than later.

tbh I've put well over 200 miles on the car and I'm still not totally satisfied with the tune.

is there any possibility that you guys have even a rough estimate for how long P2 is gonna take to fully develop?
It seems like that's where the real meat is at and I don't want to be waiting too anxiously if in reality it's not gonna be released for another 6 months... or longer.

also think it'd be pretty cool if you guys actually let us know what's going on behind the scenes rather than completely surprising us after months of hyping something up, kinda like what Apple does w their products.
I know it's probably part of your business model or whatever but I can assure you that regardless of how you present a product to us, as long as it's quality like everything else you put out, we'll be buying it.

@Eagle7 you made some really good points, allow me to elaborate.

first off, I'm in the dry cleaning business. when a customer brings in their clothes, we don't just give them an estimated date, but rather a guaranteed date on which their garments can be picked up. I understand that tuning a car could be a lot more complicated than dry cleaning, but believe me, every business has bumps in the road. not a month goes by that I don't have some specialized machine or necessary component break down on me. it could be something as simple as a little nut that got loose or an entire boiler literally exploding (yes, it's happened). regardless, I gave my loyal customers a specific date on which their garments will be ready and I'll be damned if anything causes us to miss that deadline.

that being said, not asking for a specific date, but at least an idea so I can start to figure out what I can do with my car in regards to other modifications.

I've mentioned it before, but my car is a Stock Giulia Sport with RWD.

With all respect to EC and their team, products like Air Intakes and Cat-Back Exhaust Systems have generally been proven to be complete rip-offs. I can totally confirm this statement, not only from professional research that has been conducted, but lot's of personal experience modifying cars as well.

I wouldn't be opposed to installing a custom exhaust, but these 4 bangers aren't exactly the best sounding engines in the world in the first place, and I honestly don't think there's a single system on the market that would do a better job than something my guy could put together for me.

I think that should answer a few questions.

@Eagle7 and @scotchri

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that modifications to a car's intake system does absolutely nothing at all, but the actual amount of power gained from such a product is almost always negligible, especially when you have a stock airbox as effective as the one AR dropped in the base Giulia.

Furthermore, I drive my babe much harder than most people on this forum. To me, every stop light is like a Christmas tree on a drag strip, which means I probably hear the sound of my air intake a lot more often than you guys even hear that of your V2s. I genuinely love that blow off valve sound but at some point, it becomes extremely annoying, especially when you live in a city like LA. I decided to install a CAI on one of my cars a few years ago just to see if it would make any difference, it failed to do that but certainly succeeded in completely driving me mad.

My main point of all this was to determine if I would absolutely have to make some sort of modification to the stock intake system in order to allow my car to run the Phase 2 tune. I'll do almost anything in the name of more power, but please let me keep my sanity.

btw @Greg@Eurocompulsion, I've already read through the descriptions of the Phase 2 Tune for all of those cars multiple times over. From what I've put together, P2 won't even be a big deal, rather Phase 2 Plus is where you guys are gonna be hiding the good stuff.

so my car's been in the service department for over a week now and I should be getting her back in the next few days. before dropping her off, I made sure to flash the ECU back to stock.

my service advisor mentioned to me that there are multiple software updates being performed on the car. does this mean that I'm going to have to re-upload my stock tune and wait for my Phase 1 again?

been missing her like crazy and was hoping to go for a fun drive as soon as I get her back.

Personal Experiment Results

Kinda disagree with what many of you have been saying.

After going through 2 full tanks and 400 miles with the tune (alone), I flashed the car back to stock in order to see how much of a difference it was really making. In all honesty, there's no way I could possibly tell the car apart from stock and phase 1.

It's been a little over a week and a full tank since I flashed it back to stock and if anything the engine seem's to be pushing itself just as hard as it was with the tune. The only differentiation that I could make at this point is higher fuel consumption on the stock tune and quicker shifting on Phase 1. Neither of which is really relevant to me because I'm averaging well below 15 miles per gallon regardless of tune and I prefer to keep her in manual mode in most scenarios anyways because it allows me to keep her quiet when I want to chill and ready when I want to go.

Overall, don't even miss the tune all that much. For $1,200 you'd expect it to be something pretty special, fingers crossed P2 comes out soon and has the Pops and Bangs tune make it all worth it.

Would love to line-up with some guys in the Los Angeles area who feel like the tune made a huge difference in their car in order to see if there's some complication with the tune on my car or if I'm simply expecting way too much from it.

Hey, thank you for the offer to help. I'm interested but I can't pm on the site just yet. I'll purchase the bundle over the weekend and wait for delivery. I hope my post count goes up till then.

I have another question. For people who lease their giulias, did you guys have to check with your dealer before modifying? or as long as you revert back to stock when the lease ends it's fine? will they give you grief when it comes time for regular service?
Just have everything back to stock before returning the car. I'm planning to buy mine out anyways, so I couldn't imagine that there would be any problem when taking it in for service.

Assuming that you're a new owner, I'd advise you to make a friend at the service department anyways. :wink2:

One forum member measured 0 to 60 MPH in a Q4 as 4.7 seconds with the P1 tune at 6000' elevation. Not 100% certain of the accuracy of the measurement, or any measurement. There are challenges to measuring this accurately.

If you have RWD with Cinturato tires you might not see an improvement because the tires are the limiting factor.
Spot On. If anything, the tires spin, traction control engages, and you end up with a slower time.
Following a nice burnout, however, if she hooks... she hooks :grin2:

I'm wondering about this as well. I got it up to 133 before V2 and P1 in a RWD TI before I spooked myself to slowdown. I still had tons of power left.
same here. haven't felt the desire to push her over 130, but have broken the 120 barrier a few times (in Mexico, of course) and she definitely had much more to give.

My quad will not touch the snow or move in under 50 degrees. Garage kept in winter. I own 9 trucks (4 plow trucks) so I would be a fool to try to drive a rwd or any car for that matter. Not looking forward to parking her though. Love driving it.
