Yup, don't be tempted to fake it. An aftermarket tuner and turbo company called Voodoo made stickers for Miatas. The logo was a rampant Chicken on a yellow shield with a triple stripe above it. Extremely close to the Scuderia Ferrari logo. It's an obvious cop, and to car fans, a cheap joke. Mazda won the 24 hours of Le Mans fair and square. Isn't the Mazda seagull M logo and makers mark enough for them? Same way with Alfa. You have and Alfa badge. Wear it proudly. Do not envy the Quadrifoglio it it isn't in your budget. This way you won't have to explain it to hot chicks out on the town either. I once saw a Toyota hooptie car with fake Lexus badges on it near the Prudential center and Sheraton here in Boston. What a crazy amount of work to lie on your car when they could have spent the labor working on the paint and trim. Or a descent set of wheels.

I'm totally OK there's no "TURBO" badge. IMO, the only non-stealthy thing about my car is its wheels. Love the Alfa logo.

 

Alfisti have been putting the quadrifoglio stickers on their Alfas for decades. Absolutely OK in my book.

In fact I put one on my other Giulia (non turbo) probably 10-15 years ago.

Although, replicating the exact QV look may be a bit tacky/overkill.

I don't recall anybody painting "AMG" or "M3" to the side of their car to win races.

 

If anyone caught Fox and Friends Wednesday morning they were showing 4 of the best cars for 2017. One of them was the Giulia Q! They tried to explain the quadrifoglio by saying "It's an Irish good luck charm that the Italians call a Quadrifoglio"

 

About as true and well-researched as anything else on Fox and Friends.


I think that Ti owners should forget the clover and go straight for the "M" badge, it has far better brand name recognition and is available on eBay. While there, it is easy to pick up a wing and a "Type R" sticker to adorn the trunk.

I don't have a QV so I did not find it appropriate to put quadrifiglio on my car but did slap a tasteful classic small Alfa badge on its fenders

 

I'm trying to get one or two of these. But not sure about placement on the car.

 

Never EVER add badges do not belong on a car model. It only makes the car driver look like a poseur.

 

OK jdivitto, I follow you now. It's different in the Alfa tradition. Can you post some pictures of the Milanos with the badges on each? Some Ferrari 348 and 355 guys complain about applying badges good or bad IF they were not on the build sheet option. I have seen a couple 355s with stickers, and some of them undersized. At that point it's ind of weird. Not the same as the Alfa tradition.

I wish I had pictures of the two P type Alfas from Concorso Ferrari and Friends 2013. One had spoke wheels, the other solids. Beautiful deep Rosso Comp. 3000 hours in each car and we knew at least ONE had Enzo Ferraris hands on it during it's life. They were 1930s vintage and almost priceless at that point. Don't remember any quadrifoglios but they were not finished yet.

 

View attachment 8434 Alfa used the little quadrifolglio on the back of Milanos to indicate trim level. If the clover was silver, it was a base model. If it was gold, luxury trim. If it was green (Verde), it was performance trim like the photo below.

The black Sprint Veloce photo is my car with Alfa I talked clover.

Another example is an old Giulia GTV with factory applied clover.

Your example of a Ferrari P3 is a bit different. If I was restoring an Alfa Romeo 8c2900 Lungo with Carrozzeria Touring bodywork in preparation for show at Pebble Beach, well, I wouldn't be putting a sticker on the side!

 

Fortunately this isn't a big enough issue to lose any sleep over. No problem if others disagree with me.

If someone cuts vents in their Ti fenders and hood, adds carbon fiber trunk spoiler, oversize staggered wheels, adds emblems and struts around pretending to be something he/it's not, well that's cheesy and wrong.

If someone wants to celebrate Alfa's rich history with some individuality using marque appropriate symbols, I applaud them. Heck, I'll probably add a quadrifolgio emblem next to the rear licence plate. Not that I'm pretending it's a QV, but because I've loved the marque since I was 12 years old (38 years ago) and sat in my cousins AlfaSud (with quadrifolio stickers). To Alfisti, it means more than just a trim level on a 2017 model year car.

Note that Alfa did have something (and probably still owns rights) similar to BMW's M and Mercedes AMG. It was called Autodelta and the emblem was triangle with a checkered flag.

Get over it guys, nothing wrong with putting these on any Alfa.

The Giulia Q is just continuing the heritage, nothing more. If you want to be really anal about it, any Alfa that doesn't race shouldn't have the Quadrifoglio on it.

The color on the GTV6 is fantastic!!!! I love the Ronal wheels also.

No, sold it a few years ago and the new owner painted it grey (originally white) + installed the new wheels.
I put a 3.0 Verde engine and tranny in it, European bumpers & lowered it.

I do miss that car, sold it to buy a 911.

First world problems for sure. People should be able to do as they please to the car that they paid for.

 

no fakes please !! lets keep the bloodline pure. it always irked me when I had My M3 YOU WOULD SEE EVERYONE WITH THE M BADGE ON THEIR CARS.

 

I have to say I was given the facts of life the hard way. I fell in love with this Ice Blue Mini Cooper that had Beautiful tough toffee lounge leather sport seats a great stereo pano roof 17” wheels (at the time that was big) $30k on the sticker I was ready to go. In Love. Then I learned it wasn’t an S. I wasn’t really up to speed on Mini’s I just loved the combo. So I wanted the S but it was a Mayfair and you couldn’t order it anymore and you could not get the combo. So I got that Mini and it wasn’t an S. I was going to change the gas cap, put a spoiler on but no matter what I would do it wasn’t going to get the S badge. I asked the guys what could I do to tune the car. They said NOTHING. :crying::crying: They were honest and saved me money. They did say be happy the S has a lot more problems and you have a very cool nice Justa it has everything. So forever, My Mini wears the Badge of being a JUSTA. So I am proud of my JUSTA be proud of yours. It is a badge of honor.

So be happy. The maintenance on the QV is enormous. Be happy you have a way faster better car than most cars out there. I have a QV. Maybe I tell someone I have an Italian car. They say a Ferrari. No JUSTA ALFA

 

Personally, I wouldn't put a cloverleaf on my Ti because there is a performance version of that same car that comes with one from the factory, whereas I'd have no problem putting one on my GTV6 (especially as it has a 3.0 engine). I am though thinking of putting a "Veloce" emblem on my Ti because it is spec'd identically to the European Veloce (Q4, 280 HP 2.0T, Sport and Performance packages) and I think it looks cool.

To the first point, I put a Quad emblem on the side of my 164Q but I don't think I would have if it had been an LS. No heart burn from me either way; to each one's own.

 

Alfas and the Quad Sticker

The Quad derivatives were sometimes trim packages (Series 3 Quad Spiders) and mostly mildly tweaked performance variants with obvious visual cosmetic differences as well (105 body GTV from 1967, Milano Verde from the late 80's)...But usually Alfisti are so knowledgeable about each model that an "extra" non factory placed 4 leaf clover is understood to be a nod to the marque and its heritage...Only this iteration of the Quad on the new Giulia has such a disparate performance advantage over the non Quad version...So, even though I own a Quad, I wouldn't be judgmental of a Giulia owner throwing a 4 leaf clover on his / her front fender....Heck a good friend of mine from the NY Chapter did exactly that...didn't bother me, but I did give him *hit about it !!!!


Note 4 leaf clovers on the front fender (traditional owner placement) and the Quad cloisonne on the "C" pillar (factory placement)....PS- this Step Nose is NOT A VELOCE ....so I guess I'm a poser.....D

 

Snakes and such

Another quirk we have....snakes....we like to put them on the rear parcel shelf....usually green snakes....(this one is from IKEA) !!!

I've always put my cloverleaf on back of car next to license plate on 2 prior Alfas. More for good luck than trying to make the car what it isn't.
