Okay, quick update - with the oil temp showing.... You were correct John_K_348, it's just cycling thru.. Confirmed with my wife, and went out and tried it again after work - same result, and she said she's seen it previously. The car fired right up afterwards. Everything's good - knock on wood!

Also just fyi - Temp gage is 1 spot above half consistently.
2 things Chicago

Hitting the start button without your foot on the brake is the same thing as turning a keyed car to the accessory position.

The second is if you oil temp is showing 1 spot above 1/2 you need to get a software update.

Thanks for the heads-up Tad! I'm going to the Dealer next Monday to have the windows tinted - will get the software updated then!
Chicago-

No problem, that's why we're here

Re the tint, not sure if your dealer is aware (they should be) but the amp needs to be protected from water intrusion BEFORE doing the tint. Some posts on here about fried amps when doing tints, Alfa USA is aware of the problem

US Quad 2.9 ...STOCK

I have had my new Guilia for a month and at least 12 shutdowns at parking lot speeds. The most recent it took 30 minutes to get it started and it ran extremely rough with almost no power but just enough to get off the main road. So far three days at the dealership and they claim no issues are found! It is very uncomfortable driving a new car with eminent fear of it dying.

Specs??? My ti did that once and if it did it again I'd surely be bugging the dealer. 12 times!????? Did u do all the updates?

How many times have you gone back to your dealer now?

Top of the page. Just click the button that is the most appropriate.

I would suggest that you don't vote unless/until your car actually fails. You can only vote once. You can't change a 'never failed' unto a 'just failed'.
If you suggest not to vote until your car actually fails, why do you have choices for no fails?

Happened this morning at the first intersection after leaving my house, maybe two minutes after starting the engine. Foot only on the brake, engine not yet warm enough for stop/start. Fortunately not in an unsafe location. Car restarted without incident. Transmission was in neutral. No further incidents during drive to work.

It would make more sense to say "don't vote until the deadline unless you have a fail". The purpose being to estimate how many Giulia owners are reading and responding to this poll. I would still assume that not all "no fail" owners that have read the poll have voted, but that all of the "fail" owners that have read the poll did respond.

Personally I am interested in knowing if the car stalled at highway speed (even if it eventually would restart), dropped to limp mode until the dealer reset it under any condition, or would not start at all under any condition other than out of fuel. The first is simply dangerous while the other two are the conditions under which I would have to call for a tow. Unfortunately the poll was started without such clear criteria, making it impossible to guess at what people who reported a fail were reporting.

Stalling after refueling is not "interesting" as it is a known problem with a known fix and only a minor inconvenience.
Dropping to idle after persistent two footing of the pedals, but returning to more-or-less normal operation after a while (albeit with lots of error indicators on the dash) is also not "interesting"; the car seems to have been designed to do this and hopefully AR will fix it to be less onerous at some point.

My weekly drive takes me through about 50 miles of roads with very little traffic and no cell service. The last thing I need is a breakdown. I've been "lucky" of late in that both my Mazda (130,000 miles) and my Dodge (107,000 miles) have broken down recently (timing belt tensioner and fuel pump failures, respectively), but both did so at a more-or-less "convenient" location.

I didn't built the poll. As moderator, I do have the ability to edit the poll, but see no reason to do so.

When the poll started, I only had my Giulia two weeks with 300 miles. Sure, I could have voted then, "No Failure". But what if the car fails at 700 miles? I've already voted and can't resend my vote.

These type of polls and their statistics are best answered after a big number of miles (kilometer) such as 5,000 (8000) or 10,000 (16,000). Then we'd have a better view of real world statistics.

For the record, we have 500 trouble free miles now. The only glitch was one that I intentionally induced. See http://www.giuliaforums.com/forum/778-alfa-romeo-giulia-issues-problems/11673-two-feet-errors.html for details.

Just giving you a hard time, appreciate the work that goes into a forum!
