Already been discussed what does race mode change.
"
If its anything like QV race mode:
Less assisting electric steering wheel
Faster shifts
Power shifting in manual mode
Snappier brakes
More sensitive gas pedal
Stiffier adaptive suspension
Electronic stability control disable
More overboost
Less torque limitation"
What ELM usb cable are you using?

It looks promising. But I have to believe at some point this got cut from development (so it never made it into production). You have to wonder how much development work was competed on the suspension, transmission, throttle, brakes, ect before they stopped. Or could this just be left over QV code that was never intended or tested for the 2.0L cars?

You know that qv was developed first than other models?

So when do we talk about if the hidden race mode is fully baked or was abandoned sometime during development...
There are several possible reasons why 2.0T might not have race mode. Inside information is needed to know the actual reason.

There is a basic software package.. Let me try to explain this: Like Windows 10... Then you pay 100€ for Windows 10 home and 200€ for Windows 10 Pro... it is the exat same Software, only the parameters that say "Home" block some features... On the Giulia it is the same. The development and basic software package was made for the Quadrifoglio. Then the other models came. so they blocked features like esc off, dampercontrol and so on.
Basically the coding for RACE-Mode is nothing other than the ACC+ or the activation of the Paddles.
only different is, ACC+ and Paddles are already integrated in MES as drop-down menu to aktivate.
In near future the RACE-Mode will also be a drop down option in MES, i think...

Long story short wrap-up:
Every Giulia and Stelvio have the same Basic software. (except the infotainment. There was a Hardwareupgrade in MY18 for GAA and ACP)
the code for racemode sleeps in each giulia and stelvio. you only have to tell your beauty that she can do it ;) and this is what you do with byte 88...

Hope this is fairly comprehensible...

btw... the how-to on alfa-romeo-portal was also written by me ;)

The only reason why they blocked race mode or the feature to turn off ESC and TC is safety.... The stupid european union fucks up all our greatness.. there are so many instructions for car makers.... i could vomit all day... Sidemirror size... exhaust gas norms and so on and so on... safety is the only reason... and this was already said by an product manager...

Safety?? Ha, it would have been safer just to give us r mode, instead of us playing with programming, fuses, and batteries making cars more unsafe haha

Exactly. Why not offer this as an option to their clientele ? The German car companies got that and are selling tune packages ....

Got a call from the shop, without knowing which resistor is missing, and having diagrams its just too much of the guessing game, and eventually will get more expensive than just buying dna-r switch. So im giving up on the idea of modyfing one, and going with just getting a dna-r switch, and swapping tops so it looks original

Do you know that to be true via inside information or are you making assumptions? Here are some possibilities

Safety/regulatory--is it really safer to get stuck in the middle of the road in snow in a situation where some wheel spin would get you moving again? Is it really safer for ABS to cut in during an emergency stop on snow where wheel lock would stop you significantly faster?

Fuel economy/CO2 emissions. The car undoubtedly consumes more fuel in race mode due to the change in shift pattern.

Subtle malfunctions/missing functionality in the 4 cylinder ECM.

Desire to sell more of the more profitable QVs.

Performance does not live up to Alfa engineer and/or customer expectations. Perhaps better tires are needed to take good advantage of race mode. Perhaps the smaller brakes on the 2.0T are not up to the task in race mode?

I'm on my phone and can't easily relay the info, but someone on page 6 gave this info...

Yes i know, i gave then the resistances, but once the 3rd switch is installed, it reverts the circuits, basically its a mess, so without knowing the right parts its pretty much impossible to do it
