Leasing Info

Well, I have officially received leasing info from one dealer here in LA. I believe this is the TI, but they didn't list as such so maybe it is just the base model. MSRP of 40,590, 48 months @ 579 with 1999 down (taxes and fees not included). This sounds a bit steep to me. But maybe I shouldn't be surprised since they told me they have a 10k markup on the QV but would lease for 48 months with 15K down at $1400 a month (which is insane). Any one else received any info yet?

That should be pretty close to accurate. Ti lease is pretty good. I'll check though, can't remember exacts off hand.

I have a little spreadsheet I use to build lease deals and calculate the true monthly rent and tax. I take it with me on a laptop when it's time to actually do the deal. It's very easy in the emotion and excitement of getting a new car to lose control of the numbers and just throw yourself on the mercy of the sales guy and F&I guy. The spreadsheet lets you play with various what-if scenarios and see how the changes affect your payment and cash at closing. Dealerships don't love it but they're generally cooperative.

It's here if anyone wants to download it:

www.carbuyingsite.wordpress.com

As previously mentioned, you need the residual for your desired mileage (10/12/15k), the Money Factor, MSRP, any discount, trunk money etc, your state sales tax, the amount of the dealer fee and acquisition fee. If you're trading in or returning another lease early you'll need the payoff and the trade value.

It's impossible to know whether or not a dealer is offering you a good deal based only on the quoted monthly payment and down payment.

I'd love to talk to you about some questions I have re the spreadsheet before I go to the dealer when I buy my Giulia. The article you provided was outstanding.

A really good site for getting a good education on leasing is Leasehackr.com For what its' worth I looked at leasing the Giulia, but residuals are really low and without any big dealer incentives it wasn't that compelling. Made more sense to buy for me..

Longer term, if Alfa wants this to be a volume car the leases will have to improve, as the luxury sedan market is driven by leases to self employed and business types.. BMW moves tens of thousands of units this way..

A good rule of thumb for a "good" lease is 1% of MSRP as the monthly payment with zero down.. to achieve this the car needs a residual above 60% and a dealer/factory discount of 7% plus off of MSRP..

Looks like AR is getting more aggressive and attempting to rope in more folks. New conquest bonus cash allowance came out yesterday/today? It is now $2,750, before it was $750.

I ALMOST didn't get the bonus. I signed paperwork yesterday for my Alfa and luckily the manager and sales associate was nice enough to rework the paperwork and have me resign the new agreement after the fact that I already left the building.

FCA Employee Here!!

I am an FCA employee (and have been for 11+ years) and have never received such an Amazing Employee Discount, in those 11+ years, as I received on my brand new Giulia!! I would have never been able to afford this $51k-$52k sticker price automobile without it -- Along with a couple other offers that FCA is offering on leases right now (and a lil haggling on my part) I am now the proud owner of this unique/awesome/gorgeous '17 Giulia Ti Q4 (that is absolutely LOADED)!! You know what you need to do to get the exact numbers for a certain car you want to get into... visit a dealership and just ask some questions! You never know......??

Congrats. My dad is an FCA employee and I get the same discount. Can you share what the after discount price was and which incentives you got? I've priced a $53k sticker car that came down to about $48k. After the 2750 conquest discount, were you under $45k?
which lease terms did you go with?
thanks!!

Guys, ask your Dealer for the "Conquest" discount offered by Alfa Romeo. It's supposed to be for those driving non FCA cars to give them incentive to get into an Alfa. My dealer got this for me even though i traded in my Fiat! Because we had another car (a Mercedes) in the household registered to my home address they still got me Conquest incentive, it took $3,500 off the MSRP...pretty awesome

From Alfa's website:

" Offer applies to owners/lessees of a competitive brand vehicle (non-FCA US LLC). No trade-in of vehicle is required. Must show proof of ownership. "

So... yeah i would assume if you own a bmw it should apply.

Got a hefty discount combining the conquest offer and dealer rebate on my 2017 Giulia TI with sport package. Paid $2,000 total out of pocket with payments of $371 plus tax for 24-months and 10k miles a year. Anyone else lease a similar model this month? What was the deal you got?

I've been trying to get to your payment, even with the 8,000 discount from sticker, but am struggling. Would you mind sharing a few more details, like:

MSRP
Sales Price
Rebates
MF
RV

Sounds like you got a great deal, and I'd like to possibly recreate it here in Atlanta. This will be my 5th Alfa (glutton for punishment), and if I can get something similar it will be worth it.

Thanks!

I currently own a BMW and live in PA. is the additional $750 conquest ($3500 vs $2750) only available in CA or is it nation-wide for owners of competing premium brands?

In other words is that extra $750 targeted exclusively at CA or towards BMW, MB owners etc?

The conquest money and additional $1000 lease cash might be enough to overcome the poor residuals for me.

Also what additional discount can I reasonably expect to negotiate in the Northeast (Philly/NJ/DC/MD)

I did pretty well, but not $7000 off well. I think I could have squeezed another 1500 or so out of them , but...

I went on truecar.com got a certificate for $5539 off MSRP from one of my local dealers. Did the lease deal over phone, walked in, picked out car, did paperwork. Done.

So with the $5359 off the MSRP (plus another $100 I squeezed out), I negotiated $1000 out the door including first payment, CA tags, title, etc. paying $392/ month (that includes CA 8.75% or so sales tax) for 24 months with 12k miles per year (inclusive of conquest cash). MSRP on my exact car was $41,490. Vesuvio Gray with Nav and a few other extras.

My brothers both sell cars and told me that Truecar and Costco Auto are the best ways to lock in a great deal and not get screwed at dealer. They are contractually obligated to meet terms.
