will cost a lot more than 200 dollars to flush the fluid at an alfa dealer...I would not trust a local mechanic to mess with this quirky car
Show me a bill from Alfa for brake fluid. A local mechanic would be even less.

are you suggesting he not follow alfa's maintenance requirements of the spark plugs?
That is exactly what I am suggesting. Every car tells you to change the plugs. Modern plugs can last 100k miles. They told me the same thing for my Infinitis. I drove one for 150k miles on the original plugs, the car never missed a beat.

its a terrible deal for 36 months
Only for a Debbie Downer.

Users here were reporting 160-200 for an OIL CHANGE...you think brake fluid will be the same?
No, every car does NOT tell you to change the plugs at 30k, why do you feel the need to make facts up?
Just for fun, https://owners.infinitiusa.com/cont...ontent/manualsandguides/Q50/2016/2016-Q50-owner-manual-and-maintenance-info.pdf
says 105k unless there is excess gap...
Bad deal is a bad deal, someone posts about their deal and asks, they are going to get the truth vs your just pay whatever and enjoy it crap because you fear alfa wont succeed...lol...

Please show me where I said Infiniti recommended changing them at 30k. I said I went to 150k, well past the change date, and every car can do the same. You would have to be complete fool to take everything every car manufacturer tells you as gospel. You are grasping at straws.

You have proven he will pay $5.56 more a month. Wow, you convinced me, he got totally hosed! I mean, he clearly said he wants THAT car for more than 24 months, but that $5.56 a month is a total deal breaker. What a terrible deal!

You are right about one thing, I favor the truth vs. your bitter pessimistic attitude because your car has issues.

Finally got the approval from the wife. Looking at a ti sport tomorrow at San Diego Alfa Romeo/fiat. They have three cars on the lot that would suit me. They all have a price about 52k. I need 12k miles a year and wish to lease for 24 months. I believe the great dr. Would say that a fair lease with about $1k out the door is between 1-1.2% of msrp. Is that still a good rule of thumb with today's environment? thanks everyone for the great advice on everything Alfa romeo (and sometimes more).

Zero out the door except first payment..there is no reason to pay anything up front, it only hurts you if your car is totaled or stolen..

He will be paying much more than 5.56 a month in tires and other maintenance......if most other cars recommend 100k dont you think there is a reason alfa recommends 30? Only a sucker would take a 36 month lease over 24 and PAY MORE. Particularly a car like the guilia that has proven to have serious reliability issues..

Right. Just remember that anything you put down needs to be pro-rated for the life of the lease (minus the tag fee, usually 250-300). Depending on your market, you might be able to get 1%. I think 1.2% is now on the very upper high side, and you should be able to do better now that it is getting late in the year.

Went to the Glendale dealer. Worked with Rodrigo. Awesome guy, knows his stuff about the car, lives and breathes Alfa. We talked at length since I was coming from a 2015 STi over pros and cons between the two.

Was able to work out a decent lease deal.
Giulia Ti Sport 19" package Vesivo Gray (sp), sun/moonroof, love the paddle shifters, love the supportive seats, no premium audio, blind spot protect, plus other stuff.

MSRP: 46790
Invoice Price: 44199
Money Factor 0.00011
Resudial 62%
$0 Disposition Fee

24/10k

$0 down = $524/tax
$3000 down = $406/tax
$5675 down = $300/tax

Went for the 0 down and kept the cash I got back from my other car sale.

You overpaid...its unclear of you mean including tax or plus tax, but plus tax makes it much worse...also the disposition fee is mandated by the FCA lease...you better have something in writing..funniest part of that "deal" is that the overall payments are HIGHER if you put money down....

Do those payments include tax or not?

I do have that in writing. That's plus tax. Dang, so much for thinking I came out OK.

How much is it with tax?
The only add-on I got was wear and tear, being in LA. With that and tax it was something closer to 600, don't have the info in front of me and haven't gotten my first statement yet.

If it's over -50 bucks a month, I'm not losing sleep over it. If you're saying I should've gotten it for 350 plus tax with 0 down, then I will.

I will leave it at this. Glendale is known for giving some of more generous deals reported on this forum. Several got 1% of MSRP there.

Regardless, just enjoy the car.

And I am. Probably should have spent more time negotiating, but just wanted to share what I ended up with. Maybe next time I'll get more advice.

Three comments: 1) Congrats on the new car! I'm sure it will be a blast for you to drive; 2) The Ti Sport package with sunroof seems to have pretty good demand so possibly a bit firmer dealer pricing. 3) While some hold out for the absolute lowest price on an item, you'll be in your sweet ride with a smile on your face. I'm blown away how someone will spend 25 hours of their free time in order to save $100 on a TV - or a few bucks per month on a car.. etc. Enjoy your Giulia..

Its closer to 100 dollars a month...but yeah, who cares...im blown away by how much time people waste negotiating with dealers...they should walk in and pay msrp...:grin2: The dealer screwed him and he should know so that it doesnt happen again...

While your deal might not have been GREAT, it's better than the quotes I've gotten from 5 other dealers in California/Arizona. I'm not jazzed about wasting my time negotiating with dealers, but I'm not going to buy from someone who's pissing on my head and telling me it's raining.
