I am not the kinda of car guy that does mods to his car. I was on the fence but decided to put a rear spoiler on. I justified this to myself to help keep the additional HP from my friends at Eurocompulsion, to the rear wheels with a few more lbs of downforce. Easy install, nice product and looks great. Still getting use to the how wide/deep it is on the deck lid. Like the look from the rear. CF looks great with vulcano black paint. In any case if i change my mind it can be off in 10 minutes.

@FNM Basically they buffed the area, as I have a ceramic coating, then cleaned it up and removed only a little bit of the tape mask. Then positioned the spoiler, and removed the rest of the tape from underneath as they were pressing down. It sounds a much easier job for 2 people than one

@DScottcarl This is the aliexpress one. Quality is very good. Honestly I'm not sure if it's 100% carbon fiber as if I press with my finger hard enough in the center it bends slightly. I thought carbon fiber was super stiff..
Anyhow even if it were plastic, it looks great, it does its job of deflecting air, and it stays on firmly, so I'm pretty happy with it.

That looks really good. I should get mine picked up tomorrow and installed next week. Cheers!

Love the look of that on your car :)

A quick question - How is it attached to the trunk (boot) lid?
I ordered a CF spoiler from eBay and its coming in a week or two (from China I think). It comes with some double sided adhesive tape. I'm a little bit skeptical about attaching it like that and I already am having bad thoughts about it just blowing off, when I stretch out the speed on my Ti Sport.

I'll post photo's and pricing details when I get mine installed. My car is Stromboli Grey.

Cheers, Martyn

Mine's tape only.. that stuff is like rock though. Had my RX7 side skirts on with that and won't come off unless you fishing line it. Should be fine as long as like everyone says, it's clean / following tape rules

My CF spoiler arrived by China Post finally. Looks like it will fit fine on my Q4 although my wife doesn't care for it (It is still going on...). Quality and fit is decent although not perfect. It is fairly light and the finish is smooth and glossy. The only issue is the roll of adhesive tape was junk and separated (sticky part from plastic) and made a mess, so couldn't easily apply it. I will buy some new 3M mounting tape. My question is - Does anyone know which 3M tape to purchase? Thanks in advance :)

No idea dude, I don't have it,. Would have thought it'd be like anything else though to create a 'rougher' service though to adhere to. Was thinking super fine grain rather than mega grit though i'm Mr Mushroom on ceramic, never used it.

Quick elevator answer on my SD Carbon install.... took me 20 min if that. There is an awesome thread as mentioned that is super detailed.

No need "sand" anything. 3M bonds very well. You can remove if all goes terribly wrong with w-d40 and dental floss. Just need to remove tape and replace with new 3M tape.

1. Clean trunk lid with Isopropyl alcohol and soft cloth
2. Temp fit the spoiler with blue painters tape or the like on trunk
3. Lift and peel 3M tape backing about 2 inches from both sides and from middle. (need to cut slightly to peel away from middle of spoiler)
4. Heat trunk lid area with heat gun or hair dryer
5. Do same to underside of spoiler
6. With tape backing folded out of the way place spoiler gently in position of tape markings. (this allows only small area of tape to adhere so you can peel away the rest when happy)
7. Make sure all is equal and you are happy with the position
8. Gently press left and right side of spoiler to trunk and make sure secure
9. Peel away backing tape that is sticking out from under spoiler. Outer side to middle.
10. Repeat opposite side
11. Apply even pressure on ends working your way into the middle.
12. You can tape for extra pressure and or use clamps. I chose to only use hands
13. Check to make sure all is secure, and apply more pressure until your arms hurt. Then apply some more.
14. Take car for ride, and try and get up to at least 150mph to make sure spoiler stays on (Just kidding) but you will want to go for a ride and show it off to your friends.
15. You now have a super cool looking Giulia almost as nice as the QV guys!

Finally !!

In town same time as my detail buddy. Took day and half to allow for the ceramic coating to be removed and then redone after spoiler was attached. Worth the wait.

Got one of the Amazon spoilers (from seller Mophorn) and the install was quick and easy. Unfortunately, after installing I noticed some haziness in the spoiler that really looked bad in the sunlight. So I grabbed some fishing line and removed the spoiler. I’d planned on returning it for an exchange, but I think I’m gonna hold off. I went by the Alfa dealership today and checked out the OE spoilers on the QVs and those are in a whole other league. So much more slim and sleek. The Amazon spoiler just looks too chunky to me now. Does anyone know of any aftermarket options that are closer in size/shape to the stock QV spoiler? Also, one that can be installed on a lease (no glue/drilling).

Fit is 'meh'- sucker is bent- the RH side sits ever so slightly higher so if you look at just the right angle, you can see a gap. But, you have to look for it.

No way to fix it, so I'm just leaving it for now. From 1st glance it looks fine.

Hard to see really but it appears you might have installed it slightly too forward (couple of mm)...that could be the cause of bit bad alignment on the trunk which has quite a complicated form in the area of the existing spoiler

I've just put a deposit on a Ti Sport Alfa Rosso & about to purchase :)
I really want the QV spoiler, and I'll very likely go Nero - not the manufacturer package b/c I don't want the mirrors or wheels painted (I like the dark 5-hole as-is). So just get front grill, badges, exhaust tips painted gloss black as in Nero.

Now I know I'll be in the minority here (perhaps minority of 1) ... I'm not a fan of cf. I said it ... whoops.
Also, I think a cf spoiler with everything else gloss black just won't look right.

Anyone know if a black spoiler is made - or something made to be painted? I could paint a cf one, but seems wasteful / more expensive...

+1 on this, also not a fan of CF. I have an Alfa White Ti Sport with sunroof: I’d love to have a gloss black spoiler and rear diffuser to match the roof, but all I see are CF options, and painting seems like more hassle than it’s worth (and cost).

I have the Koshi spoiler. It is very thin and is moderately flexible, which allows it to be shaped a bit during installation to precisely follow the trunk lid contour. Once installed it feels solid. The professional installation I had done has it following the back edge of the trunk lid very accurately, except at the ends where is curls slightly forward of the rear of the lid. There is a slight gap between the spoiler and the paint (I do not see how such a gap can be avoided) but it is uniform and very small.

The back edge has a compound angle to it, starting out about 45 degrees and then turning up nearly vertical. I have not had a chance to compare with the QV spoiler (yet).

Spoiler

Easy to install and I like the look. Took 10 minutes. Make sure you place some pressure on the spoiler after install to get a good seal. I installed mine last August and have had no issue. Even through a car wash. (Don't yell at me, I know)

Ciao,

Ray

Just wanted to give a recommendation for the Feroce Carbon spoiler from Madness Autoworks. I originally bought an Amazon spoiler but uninstalled it because it was defective (hazy blotches in the finish). It also looked a bit chunky compared to the stock QV spoiler and I wanted something that was a little closer to that. The Feroce spoiler is really great. It’s a little slimmer than the Amazon spoiler with sharper corners. Much closer to the QV spoiler. It’s $350 so it’s a bit more than the Amazon spoilers. For me it was worth the money. For others it may not be. Dealing with Eric at Madness was also really great. I’ll try to post a picture later. I’m in NC so it’s a smidge rainy at the moment!
