Depending on if you use type two or three race mode, I believe you’re gonna get different activity on the screen you’re not gonna get the RPM yellow bars either also I ran into several issues with my 2023 when I switched over to the to the new race knob for 2020+ and depending on whether or not the vehicle had reached proper operating temperature. You’re gonna get a cell light. That’s gonna say something’s wrong with a knob. Keep an eye on that not everybody experiences it.

I have a Q4 veloce 2018, with transfer case software version 0501.

I read this thread but I still don't fully understand the pros/cons of installing a RACE selector.
If I install it and I put it in mode 2, I would lose the dynamic map, which I really enjoy.
If I install it and I put it in mode 3, I wouldn't lose the dynamic map, but I would not have ABS in RACE mode.

Is that correct?

Don't over think it, they are both very very similar; I prefer to see the Race mode graphics, and also prefer the feel of that mode, whatever it is. I use it on track though, so I can notice a difference on high speed corners. You lose the pedal map for whatever DNAR selection you are in no matter what Type you choose... it's always N (linear).

Edit: No matter what type you choose, you always have ABS.

If you really want to make the most of race mode you should get the car tuned for race mode . Get a alfissimo Squadra tune as well as the gear box tune . The tune will be set up with race mode and the throttle maps accordingly. I have a veloce and been through this . The race mode without a tune is not the car at its best .
if you don’t want to do Squadra you can do a JB4 and gopedal . This is what a had prior to Squadra and it was pretty cool too . You can adjust your own throttle settings.

I only know of one tuner that actually understands what Race mode does, and besides, a tune doesn't have anything to do with what Race mode type is chosen. Also, the "fix" for race is mode is just putting the tuned map in D and N as Race mode uses the N map I believe.

I agree with joebama here, unless you really want/need ESC off for specific reason, I dont think race mode is worth it unless you have the proper tunes (( ECU and TCU (and CDCM if you have active suspension))) to support/accommodate Race mode.

I went with Squadra as well. I'll post my own review of tune and race mode experience later this week.

let me share mine... on a MY22 Stelvio 2.0T. had the Race mode enable for 6-7mth and pratically, i hardly use it. One of the biggest benefit i get from Race mode is the firmer suspension compare to D mode itself. like everyone knows, the throttle map will be in N and i find it miss match with overall driving feel. I find the gear shift is jerky when upshifting at 5000rpm when switch to D or R. of course u wont have A mode at all... for city driving or crusing.

So, back to original DNA setup and i think will stick with it. Only hope is I like to firmup the suspension to QV even in N or D. Anyway to change it?

Guys, but if I activate Race Mode on a Diesel Giulia, do you think I risk ruining the engine? In theory it is designed only for the Quadrifoglio, so the engine mappings between the gasoline and diesel versions are very different so hypothetically it could create damage

La modalita race nn centra nulla con le mappe... è una funzione per disattivare i controlli, come chi si aggiunge gli abbaglianti automatici, Android auto ecc

After performing the update I found with WiTech there is a DTCM update for the 2018-2019 model which came up after the procsi. Mine was a 2017 and showed this DTCM update after the switch and procsi. My odo was also flashing. Performed the prosci with the WiTech and found it would not procsi the DTCM correctly. I updated the DTCM to the latest version, then the procsi worked and the odometer stopped blinking. You may have to update the DTCM to the latest version to get it to work properly.
Can you go into more detail about this I’m having a flashing miles issue and failed dtcm

Just a question for people who have been using race mode often, recently I went to a trackway, using also a throttle controller to keep pedal advanced 3 times I had engine check on a very tight corner, never had this before on open road. Nothing serious, the error disappear after 4 restart and didn't had MES at the time to check it but has anyone got this in race mode?

thanks

Never had any issues due to race mode. @SPDWEB.net does not, or did not, have race mode and had transfer case errors on track. if I remember correctly.

may i know which throttle controller are you using. some will trigger that check engine light because the signal "read" by the ECU is abnormal. I am using IOPEDAL and so far alright... but i dont put at the MAX setting which is not suitable to me.

it is a gopedal (basically Iopedal branded by madness autoworker) when it happened I was 2 times on race mode 4 and one time in sport mode 3

Digging this up, I have a 2017 First Edition 2.0 280hp. Wouldn't it be possible to completely repurpose the DNA selector and replace for example A with Race using MES? Or does the switch has something physical in it that does the trick?
You can but if you can’t solder, I wouldn’t recommend it. Read the part where he’s talking about modifications to a pre existing dna selector for the steps
