Saw one at the Houston car show. I was not impressed with the stinger in person. Too many fake vents on the car. When I thought the vents were real I thought there were too many and now that I know they are all fake, well...

I will say the cabin is nice. The center stack reminded me of the giulia a bit.

If you want you can also replace it in the comparison with a different model giulia ;)

I swear I tried to replace it when I went over, but it still gave me only other trims of the QV... its a sign from above! ;)

On a serious note, I don't really need to compare the two, I know which one is better. In fact, I gave up on getting a BMW 340, and an M240 after driving the Giulia. I think those two BMWs are better performers than the Stinger..no?

While it may turn out to be a great econo sports sedan much like the Genesis is an excellent luxury car, it is still a Kia. Kia has no storied history like Alfa which means a lot to savvy car guys like us. Kia could even devise a logo with a Kimodo Dragon to copy the Biscione and I wouldn't buy one. Okay, after going to the Kia site and pricing out the Gt2 for $50,000 plus I would never consider it when you could have and Alfa. If the Giulia didn't exist I would get an M2 over the Kia. The Stinger is too busy outside with all the fake scoops, much like the new Civic.

Wondering when some magazine will do a comparo.

HP aside, I can't see this coming close to the Giulia in handling and feel.
I already know the outcome. Just want to see how the journos spin it.

It was already tested, handling and feel is what is disappointing (expected) in Stinger.....while it is longer it is also unreasonably boaty and unsetled in corners apparently.....I saw a video of a really funny (well reviewers sounded super serious) comparison between Stinger, X5M and a base Panamera and Stinger won all handling tests lol

Did you guys see the commercial with Fittipaldi yet?

Add the 2018 Buick Regal GS (really an Opel) to the wannabee list?

Retirement income

I hope they paid him well.
The guy's gotta have some way to pay for the cool racing jackets and keep the pasta flowing now that he is retired.
But it would seem to nudge Alfa Romeo just a little bit to initiate talks with Mario Andretti before he's scooped up by Hyundai.

Pasta? Emmo is Brazilian. And I suspect Mario is already beholden to Honda.

Now it makes sense

Brazilian? Now it all makes sense. I always wondered how there could be an Italian with the name "Emerson".

Kia Stinger

BASE PRICE: $32,795

AS TESTED PRICE: $52,300

POWERTRAIN: 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6, 8-speed automatic, awd,

OUTPUT: 365 hp at 6000 rpm; 376 lb ft from 1300 to 4500 rpm

CURB WEIGHT: 4023 pounds (mfg.)

0-60 MPH: 4.7 seconds (mfg.)

FUEL ECONOMY: 19/25/21
(EPA City/Hwy/Combined)

Compare with Ti Sport Q4 with Eurocompulsion V1 Tune. Same price, more torque, similar HP, 400lbs less weight, and an iconic brand. And better fuel economy. Not to mention design, handling, braking, and almost everything else.

Yep, and I don't have any of the above upgrades and still like driving my Giulia more than the test drive I took in the Stinger. Left me uncaring about the car and wanting my Giulia to arrive even sooner. But that's all in the past now, I have my Giulia and loving it. Now, just have to hold out a bit longer before getting the V2 intake and maybe the V1 tune at some point, but got to get the PPF/Ceramic Coating/Window Tinting paid off first so the wife doesn't string me up.

worth its weight reduction in gold!!!!
Well, not quite but post purchase weight reduction typically costs about it's weight in silver. Seriously, IMO a Q4 shaved down to 3300 pounds without any significant impairment of functionality would simply end the discussion of what sport sedan is best, even if it cost as much as a QV.

Everything else being equal, the lighter weight car will be better on the road.

Giulia is 200 kilos lighter, that means the engine isnt working anywhere near as hard
a 185ish Kw KIA carrying the equivalent of 3 additional adults for its entire lifespan ... thats not going to be long at all ... and i heard they have cooling issues, basically they are running a lot hotter than is comfortable for that engine
its kind of like a qualifying boost that Formula 1 cars give their engines, only they never switch it off
