if a guy at ford or mazda is working on a performance vehicle, you can bet he is reminded pf the le mans win(s)

harley had a shrinking customer base, and although they have surely offended some traditionalists, they are doing well worldwide by remembering their heritage while updating their product.
the new designs are different than the older "updated" product, and the strategy is working.
I'm not a harley guy (because I've ridden them, but I would like an xr-750), but I do wish I had bought more of their stock when I saw how they were approaching those issues.

I was at a event today where the stinger was on display. I was able to sit in the car. It is truly a impressive step up for Kia. If the build quality matches the looks other manufacturers may need to take note. The exterior of the car was beautiful, the interior was very nice as well. The interior trim was silver plastic much like the base Giulia and was the biggest let down I noted. Seats were sport style and comfortable. On the whole I was very impressed.

As far as exterior styling...I think the KIA is an absolute mess....the large plastic whatever on the lower front sides behind the front wheels is a visual disaster...the C pillar may be the worst execution of a C pillar in recent years (Jaguar XJ a close second).....I don't want to sound like a "hater" but there Optima from a few years back was a much cleaner design...

Alfa generates buzz. Tell folks you drive an Alfa and it’s wows and lucky for the responses. Tell folks you drive a Kia and the response is ok and so.

Lots of cars to choose from in the mid $40ks.

Only Alfa gave me that fizz.

That’s the heritage coming thru. Pride in the brand.

Was reading C&D on plane to France last night...they were disapointed by the car’s dynamics beside the engine.....as it was expected....it does take a bit more than some fancy parts to make car feel and drive special

Also, with the KIA, you will need to explain why the stinger is special.

No need to for the Alfa. They already know it’s special.
Bingo. There would be a LOT of 'I drive a KIA...BUT, BUT, BUT seriously it's amazing and is almost like other cars."

KIA should stick with the SOUL--it screams KIA and no explaining needed.

Why is there still a conversation going on ?
No comparison, period.......
I’m picking up my QV tomorrow, and that is all that matters to me now......:grin2:

Agreed with everything above. Its a KIA. Kind of like allll the features that are built into a Genesis. At the end of the day, it is STILL a Hyundai and I am yet to be impressed by the design and styling of just about anything Korean. Always look like a mishmash of styles.

Let me know when KIAs turn heads like an Alfa.

And?????
HOW IS IT??

I am sure that with this weather, your tires are unhappy, but your turbo is loving it.

Last note, as far as owning a "KIA, But, but, but, but"
I used to have a Neon SRT4, and I literally didn't even try to explain to people why I had it, or what it does. In fact, someone stole the plate "SLONEON" in my state, which I wanted.

"So....what do you drive?" Me- "A Neon"
"WHY?" Me- "its quick, even though every once in a while the shifter falls apart going into 2nd, and that slows me down"
BUT...it was $20,500 with LSD, sunroof, and stupid power.

The Giulia is definitely what BMW 3 series was in the 80's and 90's - well built, looks good, and is a Driver's car!
4000 miles later, I still take pictures of it, rave about it, and love every minute driving it (just needs exhaust). >:)

I only drove her for about 100 miles from the dealer to the detailer with proper snow tires mounted on.......
well, I just think it is a phenomenal drive..... but I am a little biased...... thanks for asking!:wink2:

There was a time when a Lexus was just a Toyota. Pretty sure the rc and lc are good cars in their own rights.

Moreover, Toyota can build a good car on their own. I think Kia is just waking up.

why is this a thread, to compare a sodding KIA stinger to a Giulia is ridiculous.

The Stinger (and ive driven the top of the line one on extended test drive) is ok. no more no less. its a mess visually outside, looking like a complete rip off of an audi and then a load of other bits stuck on, the inside is decnet enough, not special or particularly good, just ok, but the performance and drive is not the 2nd coming of JC as many are making out. again its ok, but not a patch on giulia, or my old mans 330d, which is pretty poor considering its meant to be amazing. plus it will always be a kia...not that thats bad, its just boring, like saying i own a zanussi fridge or something like that. they make some decent econoboxs but are all soulless machines. Badge snobs will forever think of you as not being able to afford the German equivalent (despite the top of the ranges car ridiculous price). I think the motoring press are just pleased because its something different and left field from KIA and not a complete train wreck as it could easily have been, and are giving it a lot of leeway, whin in relaisty its nothing better than a C+/b - effort
