"Remote control can be programmed to newer versions of HomeLink (version 5 and higher) that is integrated into many cars. Older versions of HomeLink (earlier than 2013) will not support the 433MHz frequency of the remote transmitter used by Forza."

Oooh that's intriguing. I wasn't fond of having to keep track of and use the little key fob, but being able to integrate it into the Homelink buttons might change my mind...
Just had my Forza system installed by Car Toys ($150 for two hours of work). Programmed the third Homelink button to open the pipes. Works perfectly in all DNA modes. Such a great investment.

So...... for those who installed the "race sound" in all modes would you recommend? Thumbs up or down?
100% thumbs up. When I was picking up my repaired Quad Friday, the tech was playing around with my Forza controller. Said that a lot of customers have been asking about getting race sound and they usually just open the flaps permanently. Many who opt for that apparently wish they could (on occasion) go back to normal sound. He was toying with the idea of stocking the controller for when customers ask.

Glad to hear....... it may be my first (and only) mod to my QV.......0:)

I'm going to try and disconnect the solenoids if it can be done without a CEL. Then go back if there is an update.

With you guys mentioning an update..... is this just being hopeful?

Or is there something in the works?

Personally i'd love more direct control of the exhaust note.

I've had my exhaust controller for a month now, best purchase ever. Will be one and only mod to the car except 20inch wheels. I whole heartedly recommend it especially since it can be connected and controlled with the homelink on the visor. I don't expect Alfa to add it as an option to change it through the infotainment system.

Seconded on both points.

Question for those who have this installed: where did you actually mount the controller?

I'm seeing you can order longer cables. Why would you need them?

Thanks.

I've only been driving my Quad for a week now, but I think A/R may have changed the parameters for the exhaust tuning while driving in "D" mode on the 2018 models. I have tried driving in race mode and, frankly I can hear the difference, but mostly find it unnecessary. I can easily summon great exhaust sounds in dynamic mode without the risk driving with the ESC off.

Any other '18 owners concur?

It goes in a compartment in the trunk under the floor liner. Details are on the Forza website. Don?t know about longer cables...mine cane with the standard and was installed just fine.

I am thinking the same way. With the homelink programmable button it addresses the single most made comment about the QV.
What is the total cost? And I presume an Alfa dealer can do this or must it be a 3rd party?
Controller is $350 and install takes about an hour maybe a bit less. I paid to have it done...$100.

Dealer could certainly do it. Just be careful that if there?s ever an issue it could void that part of the car?s warranty.

There's a guy on another Alfa board online (alfaowner.com, I think) that swears an Alfa tech told him that exhaust valve control was coming as an update to all QVs. Obviously take it with a grain of salt.

Flaps open in Dynamic mode between 3500-4000 RPM. They're always open in Race mode.
