@nellobnn - we need someone from Italy to step in.

I think an actual developer of the Infotainment system has once commented here.

I vaguely recall reading somewhere years ago that there will be no further development on the non-touchscreen infotainment system. But I could be wrong.

So I wonder with the pending rollout of Android Auto "Coolwalk" if full widescreen will be a feature? I mean, it almost looks like Carplay now!

Android Auto is getting a completely revamped visual interface with “Coolwalk” update (chromeunboxed.com)
The Android Auto logo on the 2019 MY depends on Alfa Romeo developers (or more precisely to their subcontracted Infotainment supplier).
They solved this issue on the 2020 MY, and the can't spend money for supplier to work on the 2019's unit.
I believe they are focused on new developements, such 2023 MY restyling, so it's over for the 2019 unit, it will stay as it is, and I got used to it.

If I remember correctly, the supplier is Magneti Marelli, which was owned by FCA before its spinoff. I don't know if FCA>Stellantis retained an ownership share or not.

As for "solving" the issue on MY2020, it wasn't so much solving it. It was a completely different system.

The issue of the big AA logo on earlier cars is for all intents and purposes a dead end. It's not gonna be fixed, and there's not much of a point flogging this dead horse. :(

I think that the only way Is to hack the fw. Thechnically It is very simple remove AA logo.
One needs the FW to be able to hack it. Hacking binary is extremely hard; even hacking source code without help from the implementer can be pretty challenging. Then one needs the ability to alter the FW in the car.

Only having the fw code is possibile, when i wrote that is simple I refer this. Magneti Marelli developers, are you there??:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I think @MacGeek said that this uses Linux as a base. Maybe the code is published somewhere as part of the free software agreement?
Assuming that it is possible, you still have the major hurdle of figuring out how to update the image in the car.

Oh, and the compiler, linker, etc.

The only serious chance of ever getting the to happen is if someone would make a miracle device adapter that would spoof your AA connection as a carplay connection

Fairly certain it's not going to change anything as the infotainment in our early cars does not present the entire screen resolution to Android Auto, only the portion not taken up by the annoying logo.
Hence the word might in my original post. ;)

I'm guessing its this

if so it is only USB cable to WiFi AA bridge. as far as I talked with developer of other such device 2 years ago (AAWireless), such devices have no way to force ETMs to go full width display, they only can do change of dpi, which results in split screen within small window and different scaling - see this my plays with AAWireless & DPI.

I guess guy has postift ETM and so AA goes full width as FCA got rid of AA logo on postlifts

I used different DPI which didn;t result with dual screen split, just caused that AA buttons were smaller, the same Google Maps panes also, so I could see more map while keeping still texts readable/not too small - like here:

The way to force it is to use the apple carplay interface to send the display through - that defaults to the full screen resolution
