Wastegate rod/linkage dimensions for 2.0?

Would anyone happen to have the dimensions for the waste gate rod/linkage piece on the 2.0 turbo? The one Alfa wants to replace the turbo for? I may know a guy that could just fab some new ones on the cheap - probably lots of options in terms of metal type. I just need dimensions/schematics/whatever one would need to fab a duplicate.

Mine is fine at the moment, but I read posts here and it pisses me off as it seems like a simple solution. Instead, we've got guys bending them because Alfa won't supply the damn part and wants to do the whole turbo. I have to think there's a better way and we could get these for a few bucks a pop unless I'm not seeing something and they are more complicated than they appear.

Figured it was worth a shot. Thx in advance!

Mine had some looseness up and down at the end link. I was able to put a thin SS washer and that fixed it, but you never what’s around the bend🙄.

For those that do not have the problem (elongated holes) on their turbo actuator bar, why not initiate a maintenance schedule to keep the problem from occurring in the first place?! :)

For what it's worth, here's what I use to dry lubricate the holes on both ends of the actuator arm.

$20 TOTAL investment for both ;)

Hope that helps -

BOTH available on AMAZON:

Dupont Non-Stick Dry Film Lubricant (good to 500 F / 260 C)

Aim A Squirt Long Reach Extension Tube

My gut says 500f is nowhere near high enough temp.

Good fortune provided me with a low-mileage linkage arm to replace my worn example. Then only a few thousand miles after installing it I got yet another P0299 error. I have to wonder if the reason why Alfa does not sell linkage arms is because other parts of the turbo wear out at a similar rate-> you simply need a new turbo once you start getting the P0299 errors.

The used arm was probably worn out as well; hence why you was able to acquire it. However, it could also mean that your turbo may have internal wear such as the waste-gate itself. So a new(replacement) arm is not a fix for every turbo related issue.

UPDATE about my regime of turbo maintenance; since I began a bi-weekly regime of aerosol dry lubing BOTH the actuator and wastegate pins, I've picked up an average of 1.5 - 1.8 mpg per tankful.

At first I couldn't believe it, but I've gone through 4 tanks since beginning maintaining the pins - so there's a direct correlation.

Nothing else has changed to give me the mileage increase but that.

I buy the same 91 octane gas from the same gas station (ARCO), at the same pump, at the same time of the day.
