Is it aluminum? Anyone know for sure. I would expect so but cannot be sure.
Thanks,

OK, using a magnet, the deck lid appears to NOT be aluminum. The hood, front fenders, and all 4 doors seem to be non magnetic, aluminum. The roof seems to be magnetic. Not aluminum? I thought the roof was advertised as aluminum also? Anyway, the whole ass end of the car
and the roof are magnetic and don’t appear to be aluminum..... unless I’m missing something else. Could be some steel or something under the skin? Interesting.

Hood, front fenders and doors are aluminium. Every other body panel is steel (hood and roof on the Quadrifoglio are CF, everything else stays the same). Both the trunk lid and the roof are ordinary LSS (Low Strength Steel).

As for the underbody, the front suspension turrets are cast aluminium, the front bumper beam is a mix of stamped and extruded aluminium, and the upper transverse beam is stamped aluminium. Everything else is steel of various kinds.

Do you know what kind of corrosion control is in place for the steel parts?

Also, do you know what alloy aluminum has been used? Most high strength aluminum alloys have poor corrosion resistance.

My coworkers claim Alfa has a reputation for rust issues.

The steel parts are galvanized. I do not know the exact alloy of the aluminium parts.

Going in more detail as to which parts are made of what...

Please excuse the crudity of this model. I didn't have time to build it to scale or to paint it.

Wow, no excuses needed and many thanks. Too bad I can only "like" your post once.
I had no idea that the front cross brace is aluminum. It is painted so I just (incorrectly) assumed that it is steel. Perhaps a higher strength alloy that needs the paint for corrosion protection?

It's a great model, MacGeek. Thanks for sharing it. Is the source available so we can pass it along to others?

Thank you, MacGeek! My only real surprise was 'the roof' since the 2017 & 2018 AR spec sheet shows the following:
Construction
Unitized
high
-*
strength steel body
Aluminum front and rear vehicle frames, front shock towers, brakes,
suspension components, doors and fenders
Composite rear cross member
Carbon fiber driveshaft
Aluminum roof and hood (Giulia and Ti)
Carbon fiber roof and hood (
Quadrifoglio exclusive)
