I agree with the new model, bugs will happen points. However, this car was introduced in what was it 2015? We are now in 2017. Not exactly new at this point. Second, several reviews mentioned that this or that did not work on the car being reviewed. I would think FCA would at least be able to find a group of fully functioning cars to give to reviewers. Third, the dealer I ordered the car from is way too far away to be taking the car back and forth to them. I tried to buy a car locally, but there was too much turmoil, still ongoing, as new ownership took over. Fourth, What kind of car is the loaner from what is essentially a Fiat dealer?
Not sure I follow you on some of your points
An introduction and actual production launch are 2 different animals so things happen in real world driving that don't necessarily show themselves in pre-production testing
As far as what reviewers said did not work I have yet to experience any of that and I hope I don't frankly, again these were test drives at tracks and around town if you will. Many different drivers for short period of time. Biggest issue was with the infotainment system if I recall
Asa far as your dealer choice, well sorry to hear but that's all on you. The car that was almost lemoned for me I also made the error of buying from a dealer who was not convenient (over 1.5 hours away).
As far as a loaner my dealer always gave me another BMW, usually a base 3 series. They sure as **** didn't give another M3:grin2: expect a Fiat or maybe a Jeep is my guess for now.
Best of luck

Found out that the audio failure issue was with a bad amplifier. Bad news is they do not have any spare ones. They are still working on the general failure warning lights.

The dealer was able to fix the audio failure issue today - bad amplifier. Still having problems with the general failure warning light.

The Service department has been great. Let's be serious, this is the first QV they have had to fix. I am not blaming them. I just want my car working great.

When it comes to the wiring harness, they talked about looking for a break in the electric system. This would relate to the comment WBCLassics wrote.

Let me summarize then.

I expect a very reliable car from FCA for this reentry into the US market. If they have not figured out that this is an essential element of this effort, then nothing will save them. I have concerns as mentioned, but I will wait and see.

No the dealer issue is not on me. It is on FCA for selecting dealers like these in the fastest growing area in the country. As I have mentioned numerous times, Alfa Romeo should be in with Maserati, not Fiat. Park Place has the Maserati operation here. There is no better run set of dealerships in this area. I am told that the Ewing Group that bought out the dealers near me is a well run group. I have yet to see this.

I am afraid I see any loaner as being a Fiat. I just hope they give me one for each foot.

No loaner from my dealer.

My 4C LE has been great - no real problems.

I hope they can fix the other issues. I heard that my car had almost 30 error codes!!! The suspension is like it is in race mode, very stiff, when you press the suspension button, it does nothing and when changing to different modes (D - N - A), the lights change on the indicator, the screen on the dash shows it is changed, but the performance is the same - I think it is stuck in Dynamic mode.

I really don't want this car to go a lemon. I have waited a long time for it.

Again ground up new model so things may not be 100 at first, how it gets handled dealer service is the big FCA/Alfa issue
Personally I have not experienced any of the issues on mine other than a CEL which will get addressed Monday
Alfa with Maserati is literally 6 minutes from my home they are also paired to Ferrari and other highline cars would not touch them with a 10 foot pole so it goes to individual dealer service. Just because they are paired to other highline brands means nothing unfortunately. Sorry for your issues with the car
I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt until I see otherwise

Sounds like a bad grounding or control module. I am shocked there is no loaner.

To Chipps point, hasn't the Giulia been out in Europe for about a year? I would assume that there are more similarities than differences between Euro and US models and that some of these gremlins should be shaken out.

I've only got 500 on mine, but (fingers crossed) so far so good

You're setting your expectation way toooo high. This is Alfa Romeo we're talking about and a first run car. You should wait for the second year of production then all the bugs will be sorted out.

The Giulia has only been available anywhere in the world for a few months. They haven't had time to sort out the bugs yet. Give them some time.

Loaner car: My dealer is a Fiat/Alfa dealer. If they have a Fiat 500 available, that's what I get. If not, they pay for a rental, but that rental must be a Fiat/Chrysler. Sometimes I don't even take their loaner as I do have other cars.

About 3200 miles here. 0 Issues here! Its going on the dyno tomorrow in fact!

My Ti is at the shop at 1,900 miles due to a stalling issue (stalls after refueling). Dealer is still trying to figure it out, hoping to get it back next week.

I am getting my QV back tomorrow. They had to reset/reflash the computer. Played with the wiring harness and found an issue with one of the wires. Seems to have fixed the "General Failure" issue.

Still no amplifier - strange. This is the second problem with the amplifier that I have seen in this forum.

General Failure warning light gone. Now down to the amplifier that is on "international backorder".

I may just put in an aftermarket amplifier. The Dealer is finding out if I do that, will the error go away.

just dropped my car off at the dealer for my CEL light...told me he will call me tomorrow and let me know what the codes were...
BTW they just literally got another QV in...I was shocked I thought they were not getting it until March! and it is already sold!

I have a few issues with my Giulia as of right now which is a whistle noise at highway speeds, brake pedal shakes when wipers turn on... Still have not taken into the dealer for diagnosis due to time constraints and the fact my dealer is 30 to 40 mins away from home...

Who's going to pay for the aftermarket amplifier?

If they can't get you an amp in a reasonable amount of time, call FCA and make a formal complaint. How can you give Alfa a good recommendation to your friends and people you meet if they can't fix it in a reasonable amount of time? They can't afford this type of reputation and they are currently relying on word-of-mouth as their primary source of advertisement.

Yes, I've had to similar conversations with FCA about my 4C. The good news is that you can drive your Giulia while waiting on an amp.

my lane departure warning decides when it wants to come on and when it doesn't all on its own
That's pretty normal I believe. All depends on how visible the painted lines are. My AMG used to do the same thing, and if you look at the display closely you'll see the lane lines indicator appear and disappear based on condition of lane lines paint.
