Rough idle cold

Good morning. It's been ongoing but when the car sits more than 2 days OR It's below freezing(22 this AM) the idle is VERY rough like a misfire(only once did it throw a misfire code), smooths to normal after a few minutes and doesn't do it when it's warm out or being driven everyday. Oil is fresh every 4-5k, plugs about 5k ago and new serpentine belt at the same time. Could this STILL all be a battery issue? 2017 2.0T Q4, 49k miles, and as far as I know original battery. It has never not started just the rough idle as described along with start/stop light on dash then that goes out after a restart later in the day.

49K Miles = have you ever cleaned your MAF Sensor with MAF Sensor cleaner?

Probably needs a little freshening up.

Remove it, give it a couple of shots of cleaner, let it dry for a few minutes, reinstall & start.

Hope that helps.
WOW that's the one thing I've never seen posted when it comes to this issue, always thought spraying anything on that was a bad idea. I'll look into it further thanks.

I never drive it with the engine temp that cold, not good for it but I'll mention it to him. He said the multiair can be an issue but even new the cars run rough when this cold. But I'll look further, if it needs something like that I will get rid of the car next year

Mobile1 0w30 AFE SN, SN+, SP, and GF6 rated, did it with whatever the dealer used before I bought it and with Penn Euro 0w30 so never looked it as an oil issue, I have the free version of ECU but no cable kit.

Definitely 0w30 only, never heard of a mobile 1 filter being bad but it's all I've used and it did it with the oem one that was on there also. Next change I'll switch and see if it makes a difference. What failed with it?

31* this morning, no rough idle.........The pattern seems to be if it sits a few days not being started, it does it warm or cold, maybe a bit worse cold but either way it seems to be when it's not being driven.

When it was cut open there were large gaps in the filter media -> it would not filter anything. IIRC a second filter was purchased and cut open and it was no better.
No defects were visible without cutting the filter open. New filters were tested.

Napa branded and Mopar branded filters seemed to have the best construction.

IMO, Mopar oil + mopar filter is the way to go with this engine.
Filter is easy to find, that new version of the oil that's SP and GF6 not so much, even the Alfa dealer near me uses Pennzoil in all the cars. Mobile1 0w30 AFE meets all the specs and 6 qts is less than $35. Who makes Mopar's oil? other dealers I called use Mobile1 when they run out of MaxPro

@hawk02 I’m having the same issue.
Every time I leave the car sit for 3 days or more I get a rough idle.
After it warms up and I drive it a couple of miles it goes away…
Did you figure out what was the issue?
If I put it on my battery tender it would help but these cars just don't like really cold temperatures. I just put a new battery in and everything just seems better.....
