I did the GTAm suspension tune through Alfissimo... and its GOOOOD. ESPECIALLY if you have aftermarket springs, you need this. You may not realize how bad the car is until you do 🤣 Check out my review:

Same here.

Didn't like the Q settings on my Q4 with Eibach springs.
Also have a "C" CDCM and eBay appears to have no "D" variants...

@Alfissimo - I'd be willing to be the guinea pig and test the GTAm version on mine - if only I had the right CDCM. I'm certainly "picky" enough to give fair feeback šŸ˜‰

Hi guys - this is very interesting. I am also running STs on my QV and I really hate that front rear bounce at low speeds which makes your right foot push on the throttle mistaking more leading to even more bounces, I was getting my shop here to develop better springs for me - I guess this mod cures this?

Thanks for the review Griffyall - anyone else with opinions on this mod?

I just checked my trunk and it looks like its the right ECU to swap?

Really interested in this, couple of questions for Alfissimo. I am located in SoCal and I still need to check but if I have the D version on my 2021, would it be possible to drive down to your place and get it swap out without the shipping back and fourth? Would you also be able to perform the proxi alignment as well?

Had a chance for a 50 mile run from the office to home. All the teeter on the highway at speed is very diminished. Through a section of highway where I know the car did a little bounce dance is just about gone. You can notice the difference almost immediately when you start driving. Fyi I'm on MY'17 springs.

Performance springs are Linear springs and Corsa is progressive or dual rate. So corsa seems as soft as OEM but when pushed perform crazy well. Rate increases as it is compressed. Performance spring is more taught but is one rate. Both are excellent. You may like the CORSA even though they are 10% higher rate than Performance springs.

So, I've just discovered my car, 2017 Giulia QV is equipped with Yellow ST Springs... It's extremely bouncy in low speeds and bad roads and also quite bouncy (front) even in quite good highway roads.
If I change these to the Corsa Springs, would resolve? I don't wanna invest in new springs just to find out I need then, invest in the GTAm module.

thanks :)

Somewhat of a necro here but I'm in the same boat as a lot of others it seems. I have a MY18 QV on ST springs and it's really bouncy over speed bumps (causing tons of frustrating scrapes to the carbon). From what I've read it seems like this is my solution.

A few things to make sure of/clarify before I start this project:
  • I have a C module so I will need to purchase a new D module that has the GTAM tune on it.
  • After installing the new D module I will need to do a PROXI alignment when exactly? Instantly or after X miles? What are the consequences for not doing this?
  • To do my own PROXI alignment I'll need an SGW bypass and Multiecuscan, correct? Alfissimo states "recalibration via witec/Autel" on the website and I do not have access to a nearby dealer or the budget to blow on a single-use tool/license
  • Home free?

Very much looking forward to some insight, especially from @Alfissimo on this one. It's somewhat of a complicated topic for someone just getting into it all - lots of acronyms and abbreviations.

I have ECU's in stock and will flash them likely next week or so and have them available. Limited stock on these for purchasing for the C folks.
You need to do a Proxi, yes. Very simple with MES and hardware. Should have it anyway.
No recalibration is really needed. I just like to do it anyway with ALFAOBD software. I don't think it is needed as much as I previously thought. So I am stating at this point, you can do it or you do not have to. The accelerometers will re-learn. The MES software and hardware is about $270 (with SGW bypass) for everything you need. I suggest it anyway. Nice to have the capability of oil service rest to diagnosing to clearing codes etc...

You will not find with the ECU alone that this will save the ST springs, the main issue is the springs are improperly designed. I suggested our springs and the ECU for an improvement you will be amazed with. Really! Our springs do not lower as much as ST and are not as soft as ST or should I say improper rates. Although our springs have more rate, they match well with the D version ECU with GTAm suspension tuning. Our springs were developed using the GTA springs, we looked at the ST and H&R and developed ours to outperform all of them. Increased the rates, wire diameters were changed, coils designed to function better and give minimal lowering. Not only does all of this equate to better handling but also comfort and less damage to the car since it does not sit as low.

We now have two options for springs. Performance and CORSA. Performance is our full linear spring set up. These give much better handling than stock or any lowering spring on the market as we actually tested our springs for about 8-10 months before bring them out. We have city, mountain and track testing (Laguna Seca and Willow Springs) done on these springs. These give a more sporty feel to the car, nearly no bounce, no teeter back and forth, bounce and teeter can damage the front splitter to side skirts and more. We have put our springs through the ringer and we have not experienced any issues at all and all teh reviews here will show the immense improvement over ST.

Now, the CORSA. These also do what the Performance springs do but more. They are a dual rate spring. So initially they may seem like there is no change from stock to these. This is a true GT spring. Comfortable but when pushed hard, oh it will perform. These are a 12% increase in spring rates over the performance springs. Again you will not notice until you push the car into corners, then those rates pile up quick and the car will push through the corners as if it were on a race coilover setup. Unmatched performance with both springs. Don't be fooled though by the initial feel of these springs just driving down a road, these are high performance springs and match well with the new software. These have also been tested the same way as the performance springs and developed over an 8 month + period to get then correct.

ST was a spring most purchased at the beginning. It was the only option that did not lower (.8") as much like H&R which slammed the car too far that the suspension geometry was thrown off and cars got heavily damaged from these unless you delicately drove around town. We are past this now, dust in the wind. KW/ST I have since parted with as all their products I tested including their very expensive coilovers were badly designed. 2.0L springs sat too low in the rear and performed badly. DDC kits are made for street use ONLY. Not track and they just lacked in performance. I have had many make the switch to my springs and have been happy they did. I have even had a few remove the KW DDC coilovers for my springs/Suspension ECU and state this setup is a huge improvement over the KW DDC.

Sample car below.

Hope that helps.

Maybe others with either will chime in.

Ciao!

Glad to see this post, as I was about to post something about bounciness. I recently got an '18 QV and the previous owner had installed Alfissimo GTAM springs. Love the stance -- it's perfect.

But at low speeds it's surprisingly bouncy. On my street we have those wide, high-speed speed bumps that you can take at 20 mph, and the car REALLY bounces around over those in a way where it feels like the car barely has shocks, it's just riding on four springs, boingy boingy. It's especially visible at night where you can see the headlight pattern bounce up and down. Doesn't really matter what damper setting you put it on, it's bouncy. The car is significantly under-damped. The springs are running the show.

What am I looking at to address this, a modified suspension ECU?

I ordered the Corsa springs and the CDCM from Jason late last year. I had the springs installed first to test out the hardware and the forward/rear "bouncy bouncy" effect got quite better compared to the STs - those ST springs were terrible in that regard. Then, I installed the CDCM and my feeling is that it got even better, barely feel the bad effect anymore. Looking forwards to tracking it next weekend!
