I cannot reveal the source of this news because it is not official nor it is confirmed. Allegedly several dealers, potentially including Alfa Romeo of Strongsville, have been approached about doing a limited run of GTAs. MSRP will be north of $150K. That's all the details I have now. It would be great is this news would be true and it materializes. Just because it will show the unpredictability of Alfa Romeo as well as some in the US would own one of these Masterpiece.

I mean, depending on how my crypto portfolio does between now and then... I was in the market for a Ti Sport but I wouldn't mind upgrading.

Its possible due to the different front bumper that it needs to be crash tested again. Another issue may be related to the seats depending on what seats are in it, again related to crash testing. I believe it does come with a 3 point belt at least which was the sticking point in the past of some other "racey" models (they only had 5 points which are not US street legal).
I thought I read somewhere it had to do with the materials they chose as weight-reduction measures for some of the windows?

This is a good point. Compared to the qv, the gta is very expensive for not much perceived gain. BUT, if you compare it to the best 4 door, 5 seat cars out there, then it's not that much more expensive and you get a limited Alfa icon

The gtam is still the one I don't understand, it's a sedan that's been turned into a2 seater. At that point, you start comparing it other 2 seaters, and then you realize that there are better 2 seaters for less money

I think if all 500 are/get sold, then Alfa will be vindicated to some degree. Everyone compares to the Project 8, which was not offered in RHD which must have created some sales friction in a popular market like the UK. At least Alfa are able to offer steering wheels on either side. We probably have the Giulia legacy for that...

Each time I have spoken to the GTA team, they seem confident. but only time will tell.

All reports suggest that the GTAm is by far the bigger seller; How do potential US customers feel if they can't spec GTAm? would that be a showstopper?

I think the mistake many of us are making is in thinking that someone is going out and buying a GTA or GTAm and comparing it to a car like a Porsche GT3 or AMG GTR. These are ultra limited production cars that they build for idiots like us who are buying it because its the ultimate Alfa Romeo. Nobody cares the GTAm has no back seats. The Jaguar Project 8 was similar except Jaguar overestimated their market for enthusiasts, especially with the F-Type still available (and a previous Project 7 version of that).
