Well, I have officially received leasing info from one dealer here in LA. I believe this is the TI, but they didn't list as such so maybe it is just the base model. MSRP of 40,590, 48 months @ 579 with 1999 down (taxes and fees not included). This sounds a bit steep to me. But maybe I shouldn't be surprised since they told me they have a 10k markup on the QV but would lease for 48 months with 15K down at $1400 a month (which is insane). Any one else received any info yet?

Hi everyone, test drove a Giulia last night and loved it. More importantly, my wife loved it even more (!?!?) so reduces any home friction there, lol. I'm looking to lease. It's my first time leasing and I'm curious if this deal sounds reasonable. I have the full lease quote sheet if that's okay to share (?):

MSRP - 47,340 (Base model with a bunch of options)
Trade Equity + Down - 6,955

Money Factor - .00070
Residual Value - 24,143 / 51%
Terms - 36 mos / 10k per year
MA Sales / Excise Taxes - 6.25% / .1125%

Monthly Lease Pmt - $399 (including tax, w/o tax $375.50)

I've bought a decent amount of cars over the years and liked the salesman. Not too pushy and seemed to want to make us happy. Thanks in advance!

Your down payment is adding ~$200 per month to your monthly... I would never do this deal as I always try to limit down to just "drive offs" - about $1k in most situations.. $1k down in drive offs and a monthly of $450 - $480 would be a reasonable deal.

Hello Guys,
Pretty new here. Thanks all for all the leasing related education.
Need help. Planning to lease Giulia Ti AWD here in NJ.

Details:
MSRP: $51,385
Additional Packages: 19" Sport Package, Dual-Pane Sunroof, Premium Audio etc

Planning to visit the dealer this weekend. Could you please suggest me a what would be a good deal interms of Monthly Payment and Down?

I am looking at a Giulia in the Southern California area at MSRP $49,000. With all discounts and rebates the price will be $41,000. They are offering $0 down and $608/month (which includes the monthly $51 sales tax). There is $895 cap reduction rolled into the payments. I don't have the figure for all the other fees rolled into the payments but I do know that the dealer acquisition is $895.

The deal seems a little high per month but I wanted to get input from others.

It's not a cap reduction if it's rolled into the payment. That's the whole point of a cap reduction-to pay some of the lease upfront to lower the monthly. Without knowing all of the fees rolled in it's otherwise hard to tell exactly how good of a deal this is.

Looks like they are marking up the acquisition fee by $300

I suggest you go and plug your full numbers into a lease calculator such a leasehackr.com to see all the different moving parts and where you might be able to reduce your monthly.

Hi guys, I've been making progress on my deal. I switched to a slightly different Giulia, removing some options I don't want or need, new MSRP of $44,840. For $0 down/no cap reduction, ~$1k in drive offs, they are offering $475 per month (inclusive of sales and excise taxes--with no taxes included it's around $440). How's that look?

Yea I thought so... I was aiming $450 12k 24months with $5000 down but it didn't work out... planning to visit a NJ dealer today to check out $51385 Giulia fully loaded... I love this car... but for some reason the 24 month deals monthly payments are insanely high... ll update the quote tonight... thanks for the reply...

If you back the first payment of $265 and a tag fee of approx $250 out of the down payment, and then prorate the remainder over 24 months, added on top of the $265 base payment you get a true monthly payment of roughly $377. Well under the magic lease number of 1% of MSRP that is often elusive on the Giulia. I don't know what you are getting with the paint and wheel protection add on, but based on the first number I'd say run, don't walk and get that car! But I'd tell them you only want to put $1,000 out of pocket, prorate the rest into your 24 month payments. It's safer on a lease in case the car gets totaled or stolen.

I wasn't thinking clearly yesterday and neglected an important factor. I'm also handing over a 2016 model car in trade in. The blue book value is around 13000 trade in and 16000 to sell privately which means I'm also giving them at least 3,000 more in down payment bringing it to a 6,200 down payment. I'm no longer thinking I'm getting a good deal. Any suggestions on alterations to better the deal?

Ok, if you factor the additional $3k over 24 months, the true payment goes to $502. That payment is 1.13% of MSRP. That sounds a lot more realistic for Giulia, unless you live in California.

I concur with Cpak. Take the trade-in to Carmax. I've priced out two cars there in the last year and they were very fair both times.

Doing the same formula for you puts you at a prorated payment of $488, very close to magical 1%. As long as you are ok with 10k miles, GET IT! That's a golden deal right there. Are you in Cali?

Just so people know, to go from 10k to 12k miles should run about $20 more a month. For an overage fee of 20 cents per mile, you can drive 11,200 miles a year before you break even.

Looking at kease numbers for august.. didn't know it was going to be so so... I was assuming as the cars get near the end of the year there will be special deals to get rid of the 2017.. I am assuming these deals will happen in the fall.. maybe skip august? i was fortunate to jump on the July deals

Ok, that new deal puts your real payment at $577. Now, the 15k miles a year are worth at least an extra 20 bucks of payment, so if we pretend that you are only doing 12k for comparison purposes, that puts you at about $557, which you divide by MSRP and get 1.259%. I think anything under 1.25% of MSRP is a good deal on the Giulia, outside of Cali. You are close, but I think they can do better. Another 10 bucks less a month and I think you are home. But if it gets down to nickels and dimes, you have to consider how bad you want the car. When you driving it, you won't care about 5 bucks a month, but only you can make that decision.

I guess I could have tried to strong arm them by walking out or something but they wouldn't budge on either the 750 off the top or lowering the monthly payment. Claimed they were making 350.00 off the deal. Regardless it was close enough so I got the car.

Went back, and like I said I'm a novice so didn't understand everything the first time around.

$48790 on $47090 invoice
$3750 incentives
36 months/10k
50% residual
0.00083 MF
$2000 drive off which includes first month payment
$639/mo which includes taxes

They are screwing you royally. The 24 month program is much better...just to give you an idea, I am paying less, with first month only on drive off (every other fee included), 24 months, 12k (not 10) on a 47,9XX msrp....and that includes talking a hit on my trade that was upside down.....and to top it off, the car I wanted was not on the lot, they had to get it from another dealer (that dealer wanted much more from me)...
