Not many people on the 2.0 platform have used or talked about ideal races tune, but I'm 3 days into running ideals e85 tune and Wow. This tune is a absolute game changer. The power gains from this tune are unlike any other tune and it truly changes the whole experience of the car. 315 WHP from there tune has got to be an understatement, I beat a stage 2 440i, and walk scats. (With video proof) I can't speak on tunes other than EC and Ideal but i strongly believe ideals tune blows every other tune out of the water. There are some small issues that have popped up in my first 3 days (error codes), UPDATE, my E levels at pump tested above e85, so I added 2 ish gallons of 91 mixed in solved the issue.no error codes since. but I'm not worried at all, Eric from ideal is fast to respond, much faster than the guys at EC and acutely knows what he is talking about and how to make appropriate changes. He tackled the issue right away and going to make changes updating my tune. Changing over from eurocompultion to ideal race was a night and day difference... don't get me started on EC. EC absolutely sucks, i can follow up on that if anyone wants me to elaborate. IF YOU HAVE A 2.0 AND WANT TO GET TUNED, TRUST ME AND GO WITH IDEAL YOU WONT REGRET IT.

What’s your car spec/tune?

That's how they threw down a 12.00. Intake, dp, exhaust, slicks, e85 tune.

EC is the modern-day equivalent of a turbonator.

It would be great to see some dragy results

I'll add that once it's flashed with an Ideal tune, most updates can be done remotely via a set of proprietary cables Eric will send you. I wanted a little less pop in my pops and bangs, and Eric dialed it back to just above the gurgle and bang on demand via throttle feathering. Eric knows his shit--one of only a few calibrators on the planet that can do what he does. If there were a market for an Ideal 4C tune, I'd send mine down to be the mule; but I'd likely be one of only a few. I'd love it though--sub 11s 1/4 miles for sure :D (I'm already in the mid 12s with it as is).

Hopefully this is the real deal but we need accurate time slips. I find it peculiar that Squadra is the only tuner that readily admits the OEM 2.0 liter can dyno up to 300 hp stock and that their tune maxes out at 306 hp whereas all the other tuners show about the same amount of hp tuned but way, way less for OEM and then say see how much more power it makes!.

Ideal has been the only tuner to ever produce timeslips on 2.0 and QV. Never seen one from squadra. Celtic. Everyone loves to post instagrams , facebooks and videos of Alfa but can’t afford a dragy or $50 for a TNT.
I will probably be going again this year. I am actually trying to do a track day at Pitt Race this year.
everyone thought I was joking. Heard you been doing hot yoga. Skipped primantis and bought used sim racer.

is the tune compatible with race mode?

Yeah, ECM tune doesn't affect Race Mode.

here is a small pull on ideals tune I was just about flooring it but not at the clicking point when 100% power is going down so about 90% power I also had 500 more rpm’s to go in each gear, so it can pull a little harder… I was on almost 100% flat ground (street was not open to public at the time)

I have my own thoughts; but won't go into them here. Stephan has ALWAYS been great to work with on any of my Squadra pieces I've purchased--zero complaints with the interactions I've had with Squadra.

I'm of the mindset that if you cannot directly name who the calibrator is, converse with that person, check their credentials, etc. that is a major red flag for me. As you mentioned before, there are plenty of tune files out there that anyone can make some tweaks to and white label it--and that's something to watch out for.
as I mentioned earlier the AR brand and Italian cars generally aren't widely presented in Ukraine, their share among other car brands less then 1% I guess and most of that cars are old 156, 147, 159 etc and they commonly are diesel so nobody cares about developing something real high-end product for these cars cause you need to invest a lot of time and money for dev., learning and gears but who will do this without revenue in the end? So I have no choice except to choose well known tuners like ST or MTD in Alfa Romeo world with limited information about their products (let's be honest nobody will not say that something he try to sell was developed by another person) or try to ask somebody who is familiar with tuning and I trust whom to develop a custom tuned map, yes it's way more expensive, way longer and more risky but this is the game and I have to accept its rules :ROFLMAO:
I would be happy to try an Ideal's tune but after miscommunication or some other issues with Eric I refused that idea also it's pretty annoying to send mu ECU to USA and back each time when I will need to re-flash it.

Ideals stock turbo times trap 2mph lower then most people’s hybrid set ups😂
Yes but let's keep in our minds you are talking about the E85 tune, more correctly would be to compare ron98 nose to nose ;)

Sorry for any possible miscommunications, we would love to help out and sort any questions out.

As far as ron98 head to head on stock turbo vs someone else, we would love to see a good race between the two if you would like to be a representative for that, LOL.

Reach back out to us for any questions if you would like! Call or email.

I was talking to Eric about cloning my stock ECU and then having it tuned. I have the Mopar extended warranty so id like to have a stock ECU laying around to swap in if I needed to take it in for warranty work. I'm still doing a little research as to if the dealer could tell it was swapped out and making sure the mileage isn't stored in the ECU. I think if this works it would be the safest way to have a tune and still keep warranty.

Anything is better than an EC tune. Sorry you got scammed, but they're snake oil salesman. Claims of massive power yet nobody can replicate it in the real world.

^^^ 12.03 sec. 1/4 mile. W O W. Are they into the 11's yet??

ShaneC may be a bit inflated in his claims, but the tunes from Ideal Race are no joke. Just read up on Eric's (Ideal Race head) history. He tuned for an LMP team (AWA), and also their GTD car (GTD Pro?) that races in IMSA.

You want big gains? IdealRace.
You want a little less gain (but just as good)? Squadra
You want cheaper, easier, but less gains? JB4 piggyback
You want smoke blown up your ass? EuroCompulsion
