Let's collect the signs members have seen that were the first indication that their battery was going and record how many experienced the symptom. Feel free to add more.

My bad. I should've gotten it.

I tried to edit my mistake. No dice.

After a very cold night it could not start the car anymore. It turned a little but not enough to start.
I changed it myself. Very simple operation.
Did you try charging it first?

No, I knew it was fried. The car stood at the dealer for 3 months before they sold it to me.
It had an anti-marten system installed (something common in parts of Europe) that completely drained the battery after about 1 month. And I’m sure it stayed flat for a long while after.

I managed to resuscitate it over the summer but I was expecting this to happen the moment autumn came.
