The platform is still relatively new, Alfa has never really been in the tuning scene historically, lot of people still on factory and extended warranties so not really tearing down their motors. What you really need is a bigger tuner like a Realstreet or AMS to go through the motor. Cept no one really building these cars for power. Bottom end is robust with sleeves from the factory and studs. Main problem i see spacing/plumbing for aftermarket turbos
"Never been in the tuning scene"...? Ever heard of Autodelta etc...? :)
But yeah, they've never been a part of the JDM tuning scene, no. :D

100% badge engineering, Elkann is the pupil of Marchionne after all.
I posted that a long time ago, I've since spoken to a Maserati and Alfa tech about it who claims theres a LOT of differences between the two. Sure the basic block design and such is similar, but the heads and much else is quite different in reality. For the Nettuno its designed to be much more of a high revving screamer.

Now that said considering the company's financial position I'm not sure if spending that development money was a wise move.

Check this link, it explains what makes the Nettuno so special. The thermal efficiency of 45% is extremely impressive for a production gasoline engine.
