Yeah, I might get there. I'd never heard of Varta. Where are they made?

Ok,found this: VARTA batteries are made in Germany, Romania, Indonesia, and China. VARTA's headquarters are in Ellwangen, Germany.

Which Interstate battery did you buy? From Costco or other outlet (I've read that Costco's Interstate are not quite as good as real Interstate?).

I think I will buy one of those lithium emergency start batteries, good for a couple of starts if needed.

the one that I got from alfissimo was 94$ it says it'sade in Europe and it has a computer chip in it. Not sure if it any better than the 20 $ one.
Well, I guess the made in Europe label makes it worth the extra cost.:)

The cheap version do not have an chip, it just seem to rewire the start-stop button to be off by default. A simple design/function that should be as reliable as the light controller unit itself. No moving parts,no chip/circuits, and is low voltage wiring. I do not see the cheap start-stop harness falling even after many years of use.

I would be more concerned about the more complicated unit with the logic chip falling or getting buggy over time.

I had the same thing in many of my prior cars, over time i just click the auto start stop button immediately after starting up the car and it becomes second nature
