Would it be easier to 'unbolt' the SGW from its mount and pull it down to be more accessible?
For my '22 Stelvio, that is exactly what I did.
The SGW is in an even worse location in the Stelvio than the Giulia, so I had to go through the gauge cluster opening to reach it.
I unbolted it from its mounting location, unplugged it from the wiring harness, and then relocated it into the opening behind the cubby.
I used a pair of harness extenders to plug the SGW back into the harness to normal day to day driving, and then when I need to connect my laptop and use MultiECUScan on the Stelvio, I just remove the cubby, then remove the SGW from the wiring harness and plug in the bypass module.
If I need to give the car to the dealer for warranty servicing, I don't tell them anything about the car, because when they hook up their equipment, they don't know that anything is different about the car. As long as the SGW itself never has a failure, they won't ever need to go looking for it.
