Set dynamic mode as default ?

Hi,

My driving style fits definitely better with the D mode. I don't drive so agressive, but I prefer the reactivity and the gear in general.
In D mode, it's often too low and causes vibration, and I have to manually downshift, which is annoying. Also, with my driving style, it does not make any difference at all in fuel consumption.

So, I would be very happy if there is a way to get D mode by default at startup. Any idea ? Does it need a reprog or can it be done in OBD ?

Thanks.

So did mine. New DNA switch implemented in 2020?

I used to do that, but D doesn't do much to the engine besides the throttle multiplier. So I go to D right away, but I take it easy. I try to drive in Automatic until she warms up a bit (3 bars) and then I switch to Manual. I live in Manual mode.

Buy a used 17/18 😂
Otherwise I don't think it's possible. The switch occurred with my19

My18 owner here with Acp/aa AND dna switch that stays in position except for race; hence my suggestion

My build date of 7/17 also gets me no sgw, no rear fold down seats/passthrough, no rear center headrest

On 2020+ the valves are open in D — cold start, they’re open until cats warm up and then close, hence it’s in N mode. If flipping to D doesn’t bother you and you just want valves open on start—SGW Bypass + Performance Logger in light or full will keep them open throughout the DNA selectors if you choose.

The reason for the change is to preserve the reliability of the engine. At start up the engine oil needs time to warm up before driving aggressively in the beginning. This could damage the internals and especially your turbo. It’s okay to wait at least 5-10 minutes driving normally before putting her in Dynamic.

My Fiat Spider has a blue light that goes out when the engine is warm (usually takes about five minutes). Then the fun can start.

To me it is not about using only one mode, but to alter as conditions require.
First of all, I never use N. Why not? I either want full power, or optimum efficiency. I cannot see the point of half/half.
And then: When, for example, travelling out of town I would put it in A for best fuel efficiency. But, when passing another vehicle, I would switch it to D for maximum power and quick overtaking. But when this is done, I would turn back to A again.
My car, which is a 2017 2 litre, stays in the mode where it was set even after switching off the car, and on again.
