Hey everyone! I'm looking to be a part of or start-up a small group to do some nice drives around the way, especially with the slightly cooler weather approaching. I'm very flexible with where to go! But, who else is in the area?

I know of 1, so far. But they're not on the Forums. :)

Cheers!

Awesome. Thanks! There are some pretty fun roads up here, especially as you creep closer to Tahoe (through Hwy 50) or Truckee/Reno (through 80).

A good alternate route for you would be 80 East to Hwy 4 East then up Hwy 160 North. That's a more scenic route. Hwy 160 North is a long river route along Sacramento River & will ultimately lead you to either West Sacramento or Elk Grove, depending on which way you choose to continue around the split in Isleton.

But, in between that, you'll be able to drive through Isleton, Ryde (where the still standing in slight shambles Ryde Hotel from the Hotel California song is) & Walnut Grove, which is a pretty cool, very small town. I've done the ride many times through there & it's quite fun. A good bonus is it gets you much closer towards Interstate 5 once you get through that area. I hope this helps!

That's great! I appreciate these responses. I was in San Mateo for the weekend, but mainly for work. So, I didn't have a whole lot of time to play. Since the majority of these responses have been in the Bay Area, while I'm in Sacramento, let's figure a good meeting point (that's not near Hwy 80, perhaps, lol) to pull up together soon.

@BernSF how'd your scenic route go this past weekend?

It was a great alternative to the grind of Hwy 80, thank you for recommendation. It was mostly leisurely due to a couple of Tesla's who could only muster driving the speed limit creating a long train on Hwy 160 on the back side of that bridge  Finally lost them for the last 20 minutes plus those nice straightaways taking me to 5.

Napa and or Suisun is in the middle with lots of roads to choose from both west and east. As fall rolls around I bet the drive from Napa to Winters via Hwy 121/128 passing the southern part of Lake Berryessa would be quite empty especially during a 49er 10am TV start. I have great brunch spot in Napa near the start of the Silverado Trail us a meet up spot too :)

This Thursday i am off to SoCal back in a week but would be open to later weekend dates in October. I'm not sure who has AWD but I am wanting ride into Yosemite at some point before Thanksgiving weather permitting via 120 and doing a loop exiting via 140 then riding up the 49 to catch the 120 west and back.
