Those who believe that all-season tires are equally suitable for use in both winter and summer are mistaken. It is impossible to combine such different characteristics in one tire. The "sun/snowflake" badge or "All Season" inscription is intended for motorists who drive in countries with a mild climate.
Tire manufacturer tests show that all-season tires have up to 50% less grip on loose snow than natural winter tires. The production of such tires is the desire of manufacturers to combine the advantages of winter and summer tires in one tire. All-weather tires are characterized by rounded sidewalls like summer models, and a deeper and more embossed tread gives out a winter component. But in winter tires, the tread is self-cleaning from snow, and in summer tires, the main thing is good grip with asphalt, so the tread of such tires is lower. And even in composition, winter and summer tires are radically different. In winter, silicon is added for softness, which means for better grip on slippery roads. And summer ones are more rigid, which allows them to be operated in conditions of summer heat without losing the quality of car controllability.
There are several reasons for the popularity of all-season tires:
• First of all, this is savings, since buying one set of tires for all occasions is much cheaper. There is a trade-off between safety and economy;
• The second reason is that new cars leave the assembly line and enter the showroom, as a rule, on all-season tires. The manufacturer cannot know in advance in what period of the year the car will be purchased. And often the new owner is in no hurry to change tires according to the season;
The conclusion is clear: all-season tires will not provide you with the proper level of handling in specific weather conditions. Tires specially designed for this will do much better. Don't skimp on your safety.
All season tires are complete nonsense and everyone who believes that this rubber is good is complete morons. Especially for Quadrifoglio! For summer, you need a summer tire performance. And for the cold season (from autumn to spring) buy Performance Winter.
