New 2024 QV - Center Console Scratches?

Just picked up a brand new 24 QV and absolutely love the car. That said while cleaning the interior, I noticed that back by the cup holders in the center console there are several scratches, some that are very deep. Given the location, there’s no way they were caused by a cup or anything being placed there. Very odd.

Just curious if this is a common thing? it almost looks like it could have occurred during assembly of the vehicle tbh. But being ocd I’m now freaking out over it and trying to figure out how to replace the trim. Pic of a random center console for reference with arrows pointing towards where the scratches are.

Edit: Pics updated with actual shots of the scratches

Scratches happen, but I’ve seen no one on here reporting suspected manufacturing induced defects like this in a brand new car. Have you discussed the issue with your dealer?

I use Adams Polish interior detail spray, that covers a lot of stuff - maybe it could help?

I have similar marks on my 24 (although not as significant). I was told that the carbon fiber trim goes on after those pieces and thus they are commonly scratched at the factory. I bet almost every 24 has something similar in that spot.

looking much closer, it looks like someone tried to pry off the carbon fiber trim piece, got it so far and then put it back down. Both of the “knee pads” on either side have what look to be tool marks on them as well. Livid right now. Not even sure if it is feasible to replace these parts.

I've used Solution Black on my defuser to bring it back to black and it seemed to work well. Maybe a very light coating could cover the scratches?

if this is on both sides of cup holders I'd not bother - you'll need whole console and it will get scratched again pretty quickly after tossing things into cup holders.
wait till you see scratches on all glossy surfaces

I can understand as they likely have to remove the center console to get at it..not sure if i would want some dealer tech taking apart the whole dash/console...maybe ask for some concession like free oil change/weather mats/cash etc..

Well, a happy update here - the dealership ended up relenting and replaced all of the scratched panels and it looks great. I'm honestly shocked that they were essentially able to swap in a brand new console and other trim bits without causing any additional damage. That said, I've yet to pull out my magnifying glass to inspect more closely :)
