Hi, I am a proud and happy owner of the facelifted Giulia QV. I guess some of you may be curious as to whether the additional 10 hp would actually make a difference in acceleration so I decided to test it out.

I’ll post the dragy result below. I did a total of two runs, first was 8.52,second was 8.39. 1/2 tank of gas AND one additional passanger ~ 100kg weight. I expect it to be a lot closer to flat 8 without the passenger, I might test it out these days.

I dont’t really know about mph, but the result is definitely not slower than older models, it’s actually faster.
Older QVs run 8.4-8.5, while I got almost the same result with some extra weight. It’s actually slightly faster than older stock models.

I would say it was allways as it is, they just fooled us a bit before :) After 2019/2020 modifications (insulation, windows etc.) it was 1660kg without the driver though. Now they just report 1735 curb weight and that is +75kg and that is just it. I know this style of reporting witchcraft from Lotus where they allways cooked the numbers a bit (numbers were great anyway but...).
When QV was launched back in 2016 the weight was reported as 1580kg for a manual car so I guess it got around 40kg with Automatic ZF to yours 1620 (but without the 75kg driver and details - curb weight) and total 80kg up (Automatic included) over the years with the 2020 mods. I think the 2024 is stil that curvy beauty of 2020 with 1660+75=1735kg. In 2020 they only did not report the +75kg.

Mine is MY21 and once I measured it on an industrial scale. With almost full tank, but anyway an empty car, it was 1700 kg. Mine has carbon roof, carbon seats and CCB-s, I were honestly expecting it to somewhere around 1630-1640 kg (as it should be 1660 kg). It was a bit of an unpleasent surprise, but anyways... The car is as fast as it was promised to be...

@blurixe Congrats on the new car!
I believe I saw your video on youtube - trolovloger channel, right ?
I'm also from Romania and I'm interested in buying a new QV, but I think it will be a Stelvio. That's because it will be a daily, I will not be the only driver and Giulia seems to have low ground clearance. How do you manage to go in underground parkings without touching the front lip ?

thanks, yeah that's right :D

if you live in Bucharest and want to see the car you can surely DM me. I have absolutely no issue with the front lip and our building's underground parking has a pretty sloped entrance. It only gets tricky once on bumpy roads on 100+ km/h since it gets lowered and you have higher chances of scraping it, but so far absolutely no issues. The car is not THAT low.

One of the guys we hang out with has a Stelvio QV and I like the car, I would definitely buy it for my mom or girlfriend, but not so sure about me. It's still an SUV and doesn't feel as fast and nimble as the Giulia. I highly recommend to try both of them out if you have the chance before pulling the trigger.

Off-topic: Do you know if there are any plans for the refurbishment of the pavement of the Transfogarasian road? I'll visit it in August but the condition of the pavement is quite poor as I heard. I have not found any information about it in English.

I have no idea, never been there actually. I can not see any news relating to refurbishment of the road and neither any public tender for any such related works (any works relating to public property may only be contracted with private construction companies after following kind of a bidding procedure).

You should probably consider visiting Transalpina, but I am not sure if it will fully reopen until August. Authorities claim that it should be reopened starting May 2024 but I have personal experience with such public works contracts (work as an attorney) and they are almost always delayed. But who knows, maybe you'll be lucky. :)
