Is it possible to make Waze default for Android Auto

I use Android Auto and the main GPS map that shows on the show is Google Maps. I can access Waze through the infotainment main menu screen but I would like to not use Google Maps at all for GPS and 100% Waze. Even when not actively using the GPS the main GPS map screen would be Waze as well.
Curious if that is possible?

I think this is a good question for Google itself! as they decide. In my case, when I change GPS app, it remembers the app I used.

Google bought Waze. I see little to no difference in the two. But that is just my personal experience.

There are a ton of differences between the two.

Waze is automatically brought up for me if it's the GPS app I used last time, not sure if it's the same for others.

I see a diff between the two, both are good. You set Waze as your default in Android, and then open it up through the Infotainment (Android Auto) and it should stick to that.

I chose Waze and AA automatically launches it when I plug in. Not sure why though.
