Just discovered a 'whole new stereo' in my Giulia today!!!
My car is has the H/K upgrade, the performance so far has been subpar.

I was listening to one of my playlists on Spotify.
There is an Equalizer feature in the settings that could be adjusted.
Insane difference!! the highs came out! ultra clear, the mids are already there and lows are not bad.
I'm encouraging many to try it out and post about their opinions.

So what is the system really missing? an inline eq at the signal input of the amp? or a crossover, or a signal processor?

let me know your thoughts

Nice that Spotify has an equalizer feature.
I just did a quick check on iHeart radio and Pandora, and neither seem to have that feature.

For me, I have mainly been listening to the free Sirius we have, while it’s still free.
The biggest issue I have is the speakers rattling from the bass - mainly the front right, and rear left.
I would love to know how to pull the door panels off (without me pulling and searching for screws) so I can tighten and check for loose areas, and maybe add some dynamat.
Anyone hav Ethel procedure or location of the screws - I imagine the cover under the door handle pops off, and the window switch assembly pries out to reveal hidden screws.

The stereo shop that installed my after market system said the audio system they pulled out of my Q4 was cheaper than the ones they see in entry level Hondas. It is never going to sound great with the cheap components and paper speakers they sold us for $900.00. They did however use a halfway decent head unit. the shop estimated the amp, sub and speakers were no more than $100.00 in total
What sound system do you have?

I too have this issue, for some songs at any volume, I hear more ratling noise than song, mostly from front right door, if the bass is too high then i can hear from the front left too. Let me know how you fixed it. I took it to the dealer and he said, they cant do anything with the vibrations caused by the audio. But this rattling noise is disturbing me a lot.

I am surprised the dealer said this. Sounds like a warranty issue for sure. I would escalate to Alfa Cares.

I find that the sound quality from Sirus is terrible, best is from USB (flac or mp3 at 320).

Absolutely they can and need to address this. You can also call FCA at 844-253-2872 or you can PM Alfa Cares here at AlfaRomeoCares

Any of the three choices will sort this out and give your dealer a slap on the wrist.

I'm fairly certain this issue regarding speaker vibration is covered in a different thread. The main speaker in the passenger side door of my HK system has vibrated at certain lower frequencies since I got my car. I have just lived with it, bc it was not worth the hour-long drive to my dealer.
This morning, I finally brought my car in for the T57 update, and I mentioned the speaker vibration issue. The service department just called me and said they found a deformity in the speaker, and are replacing it. I get it back tomorrow.
We'll see of that resolves the issue.

Let me know if that resolves the issue. Try different songs and at volumes 17, 22, 27. Those are the ranges I hear the vibrations.

Will check if that was my issue too.
I checked if the rattle noise is from window controls, Yes there is some rattle noise from window controls, but it did not stop when I hold them, also, the outside metal area of the door is vibrating a lot, which is audible inside as well. and when I took the car to the dealer, they said that there is an "inertia switch (sensor)" that is used for the safety system which vibrates and makes a lot of noise and they said it cannot be touched by them as it is a safety sensor. A lot of vibrations is generated by the front mid-level speakers inside the doors, the dealer actually said that they are woofers. normally the speakers should be enclosed in a wooden frame around it so that it does not transfer the air movement caused by those speakers, but this car seems like it is open. Also, the car is very lightweight and that might be the problem as well.

Few cars have true speaker enclosures.

When I used to do car stereos, we would seal up the doors the best we could. Finding speakers that work well with that particular size door can be difficult. Generally, the door cavity is much to large and the window mechanism provides for echos, not to mention the door dimensions are all wrong. Generally speaking, the radio sounds better when the windows are up and the glass is out of the way.

Sometimes the door skin does vibrate and there's not much if anything that can be done. The vibrating sensor bothers me. I'd thing the vibrations would cause it to false and cause the car to do something stupid.

I own an audio store (not car stereo...but been around the block) and the stock speakers are horrible. And it won't play loud. It can be fixed super cheap by adding a small JL Audio wedge box, amp, and Audio Control adapter.

The trick is to then REDUCE the bass going to the car speakers and cross over the sub at about 90-100Hz. It's an amazing upgrade that gets even better if you use a 10 band EQ app on your music source if possible. I'm using an Iphone.

There is little hope for the stock speakers. It's shocking to me how bad they are. But with the sub and EQ it's amazingly decent.

It’s not the inertial fuel cutoff is it? Where are people hearing this thing rattle? Wonder if some bad sensors rattling away might be at fault for some other problems people have...

maybe I'm the polyanna here, but I actually think the HK system is pretty good. It won't keep up with a 20k system, but I wouldn't expect it to. I find the sound quality significantly better than the Fender system in the VW golf R I traded out of and also better than the high end system in the last 2 3-series BMWs I had before that. What I really appreciate is the quality of the hands free phone system. In every other car I have been in, I have to yell at the dash to have people hear me and struggle to understand them. With this system, it sounds like they are sitting *on* the dash and we can conduct a normal conversation. I also like some of the small touches, like the speed adaptive volume. for a factory system, I think its pretty good.

I'm with you, I think it's the best factory sound system I've had in a car. I listen to jazz and don't need for my neighbors to hear what music I have on. Plus I have tried to protect my ears my whole life and still have good hearing at my age.
