We are pleased to finally announce that Phase 2 is officially ready for the Alfa Romeo Giulia 2.0L EURO+DRIVE tuning system.

This is a simple map upgrade via your EURO+DRIVE handheld. Giulia users will fill out the tune request form found on the online portal and submit this form to their folders to receive Phase 2 mapping (please allow 48 hours of processing on our end).

Additional features released with this Phase 2 upgrade include:

- Dynamic Traction Control (In Dynamic Mode)
- Raised Rev Limiter/Speed Limiter
- Pops & Bangs
- Dual Map Mode
- Catless Downpipe / High Flow Cat Optimization (Coming Soon/In Development)

These features can also be utilized on Phase 1 (for those that do not plan to upgrade to P2 at this time).

Notes on some of these additional features:

- DYNAMIC TRACTION CONTROL -
This feature is largely controlled by torque demand, and the settings in Dynamic Mode. What this means? The factory safety settings for loose road conditions detection, etc, will remain intact. When in Dynamic mode and driving in a spirited part-throttle or wide-open-throttle manner, the TCS system will not interfere or interrupt throttle position, torque request, or other associated requested performance commands. This allows for increased acceleration from a stop or rolling speed (massive difference as opposed to not enabling dynamic traction), burn outs, brake boosting, fish tailing, left foot braking, etc. This is compatible with both diff setups, RWD, and AWD equipped vehicles.

Personal note: I would encourage those who may think that they cannot handle this setting to think again. It does not affect the normal driving or conditions you engage in 90% of the time, and you will be missing out on P2 performance and enjoyment in Dynamic mode without it. This is a pure, sport traction setting, and in my opinion, one the car should have come with from the beginning.

- POPS & BANGS -
This is an additional charge, and can be purchased on the website. Please watch our video below before purchasing or using this feature:

- DUAL MAP MODE -
Via programming, the DNA switch can be changed to run a selected map in a specified mode. Our Phase 1 map will be placed in Natural, while Phase 2 remains in Dynamic. A mode will be the same as it is with the current Phase 1. At this time, the dual map option is only available with the Phase 2 map, and only in this configuration. When testing, Phase 2 did not run quite as aggressively in Natural mode as it did in Dynamic. It did not feel as if the map switching convenience offered by the DNA system was being utilized to it's potential. As we release more mapping options later on, this will change.

This option effectively removes the existing Natural mode. If you do not select this option, N and A modes will remain the same as they currently are configured on our Phase 1 map.

Man...so when you say, EC, that Pops & Bangs doesn’t sound good with a muffler, would that be true for the Remus Axle-back system as well? I totally get the proper, raw sound of P&B on “race” pipes, but do you think the Remus AB would even burble if not bang?

P2

Yes. My understanding from talking to Toby was that if you ask for P2 only (not Dual Map) you will get:

D = Phase 2 with the Dynamic Traction setting
N = Phase 2 with normal traction controls
A = Slightly modified A mode (same that we got on Phase 1 tune)
Pops and Bangs (if you paid the add-on)

Dual map:

D = Phase 2 with the Dynamic Traction setting
N = Phase 1 with normal traction controls
A = Slightly modified A mode (same that we got on Phase 1 tune)
Pops and Bangs (if you paid the add-on)

OK, the new tune makes a real difference. Can't quantify it, but definitely feel it. I opted for just the dual map with increased speed limiter and traction control. Unfortunately have CEL flashing. I reinstalled the Phase 1 and everything working as before, and no flashing CEL. Carefully installed Phase 2 again. Feel the difference for sure, but STILL HAVE CEL flashing. I'm sure Chris and Toby will sort it out. Calling it quits for tonight (unless I hear from them with something elseo to try) :smile2:

CEL + "Start/Stop Deactivated"

My 3 Revs were so slow up/down that it actually took the whole time allowed. With the P2 tune you'll rev all the way to 6,500 and nothing short of it. Enough for the engine to knock.

How many cycles did you guys go through? Mine was 4 for P2 and 4 for each DEL ERROR I tried. After doing that 12 times in total within 30min, it just didn't feel right and the car needed a break.

I wondered that too. I didn't return it to stock, but DID return it to P1 and it ran perfectly in P1 again. I then reinstalled P2 and had the same results as previously (CEL's and "start/stop deactivated"). At this point I'm just going to wait and see what the EC guys advise. My tune was the dual map with raised speed limiter and traction control. No pops and bangs.

hahahah throwback to when @Eagle7 was giving me sh*t for wanting P2 months ago...

him: "They're perfecting it so (this) doesn't happen."

me: "It's no big deal, at worst we'll just have to flash back to stock or P1 if anything malfunctions. I guarantee there'll still be bugs even when they do finally release it."

him: "No, EC would never release a tune with bugs. It's going to be perfect. They gave you a date. Stop asking."

...well... that date came and passed, as expected we got hit with the "we need a few more weeks", but that new traction control feature sounded so cool that nobody even cared, and here we are just over two weeks later with the finished product finally released.

Guess what @Eagle7-- It still has bugs.

I'm not at all mad or anything.
This is totally normal and expected.
I just wanted to point out that no amount of time spent on research and development could possibly prevent such an occurrence.

This is why beta testing is important.
There is nothing wrong with working with a few individuals that don't mind experiencing some issues at first prior to a full release rather than having people expect a finished product and end up with this.
I really don't care and even though the car's stuck in limp mode, I'm still gonna drive her. The sound is perfect.

Regardless, I'm sure @toby@eurocompulsion will be able to figure out what's going on here pretty quickly.

I just hope he doesn't need to be in the office to do it, cuz that would mean waiting till Tuesday...
@Dorifto lol, it looks like they decided to wait for you after all.

Geez I'm sorry you guys are having these issues, but this is what happens when a developer is under pressure to release software, whether it's something like this or a game. Having done beta testing for years, I know how difficult it can be to track down a bug. The key is always being able to figure out how to reliably reproduce it so the programmer can figure out what to do to fix it. Sometimes that can be ridiculously difficult on a bug that appears to be random.

The issue with beta testing software that modifies a car's performance is the liability. The potential for damage is considerable and so is the cost depending on what might be damaged. I well understand Toby's desire to iron out any and every bug he could find. I mean look at what the factory has had to do to find and fix issues in the original software, and that's a factory team. Toby is by himself as far as I know. He's done a fantastic job so far, and I too have every confidence he'll get this sorted out. It may come down to some of you having to send in your ECU so he can see exactly what's going on. With all these regional versions the factory issues, even though it's supposed to be the same update i.e. T57, UA4, it wouldn't be surprising if there are variants that Toby hasn't seen yet.

What codes are present? How many drive cycles do you have on the car?

Codes if possible.
