Hi guys,
Just want to gather more info on what is really required to activate the option to disable Easy Exit. From my understanding the bare minimum requirement is having the 2nd gen ETM with firmware 072.xxx.xxx and above installed. However, from what i can gather on this forum @ratix is the only person able to activate Easy Exit with just a procsi change only on a car that did not come with it from the factory. I am not sure if he is leaving out some other info, like maybe he also had to change a new Seat Module. No one else i can see successfully activate this feature by just changing the procsi.

@ratix
EMEA 2016 MY. Original Byte 74 was A7, he changed to AB and Easy Exit works

@stocki
EMEA not sure what year is your car. Your Original Byte 74 was A3, Changing to AB did not work for you. Easy Exit menu appears in infotainment. But it will not stay in the Off position. Automatically toggle back to On

My car
NFATA 2017 MY. Original Byte 74 was A2, I changed to AB and also AA. neither works. Easy Exit menu appears. But behaves a little different compared to @stocki, I can toggle the option ON and Off and they will stay at the set position on the infotainment. However, the seats still slides back on exit. I am on 085.xxx.xxx firmware

@JohnnyTheBeast mention he had to change the seat module to get it to work. I think the module you mention looks like picture below.

So I am trying to gather as much info as possible to see what exactly is required to activate Easy Exit.
Maybe we can start by asking members here with option to disable Easy Exit from factory to look at their Procsi Byte 74 and report what the code is with MY and region as well?

Thanks

Does anyone recommend a competent dealer in Phoenix or PacificNW who can program my 2017 to bypass Easy Access? After putting a later seat module to bypass Easy Access, I went to Bill Luke Alfa in Chandler AZ to plug in computer to stop odometer blinking continuously.....and now I'm back to square one with the #_&$## Easy Access working again. Damn!

I don't think a dealer will do this, maybe for enough money but I doubt it. You'd be better off finding a forum member in your area with mes and cables and buy them a 6 pack 😁

I finally managed to get hold of a 9.00 CSWM (50557151)
The Easy Entry menu and switchability and the Auto-On Driver Comfort does not work.
They show up on the ETM, but the functions don't work.
They default back to OFF after a few seconds.
This is my proxy:

Byte74 AB (for easy entry, original was A3)
Byte78 40 (for Auto-On Driver Comfort function, original was 00)
Byte108 07 (for Remote Start, original was 06)
Byte119 39 (for Sound Horn with Lock menu, not sure if this makes any difference, original was 01)
Byte126 80 (for Panic, original was 00)
Byte148 20 (for Auto-On Driver Comfort menu, original was 00)

These are my software versions:
BCM 0706
HVAC 152A
CSWM 09.00
ETM MV090.000.061

Any idea from anyone? Similar experience?
Thanks in advance

SW number must start from SW29 or SW32 see picture of my original I sold some time ago with working auto comfort(since 1.5 year Im using final MY20 and have amended looms/changed fan for MY20 headunit upgrade, before it was knowledge around that there are some 32 versions upgraded by FCA for early facelifts used for first a few months of production, so here is also risk that if it comes with update for MY20 it may not work requiring MY20 ETM).

EDIT/extra info: I just found out that althought it says it has SW27 on sticker, really in logs it has SW2941... must been factory updated as although I had many updates done to my car, never HVAC.

So SW29 /fw rev 1429 from my experience seems like first which is good for auto comfort

Give me some short time, I will be upgrading one 2018 giulia Q to MY20, will fit it with early MY20 HVAC, so lets see what version it will have, if new enough, I will ask guy how much he wants and may ship you it soon. We aim for job within a week.

I thought he ask me about HVAC for auto comfort (too often threads drift away from main topic). I have no time to look if he asked about anything else in past weeks/months, but my answer is only about auto comfort activation which requires HVAC rev 1429 minimum (and proxi byte change).

@SniZ I didn't offer MY20 HVAC, mentioned 2018 HVAC will be spared soon, so it may be 1429, and so would be good for auto comfort if that is thing he talks about, which based on question from him I assumed (why would first start asking why he ask, for what he needs etc).

On easy entry, main requirement is CSWM in rev 9.0 (used since early 2018 production), and headunit needs to be updated - if I remember correclty, even 1st gen headunits when updated with MV002.010.043 shows the option in menu when of course proxi gets upgraded. Older like 002.009.xxx don't show. On 2nd gen headunits surelly MV072.xxx.xxx up supports easy entry.

I have no clue what BCM rev it must be, in cars I retrofitted this, they were usually recent enough, since most passed through some recalls (say like all 2.0 got BCM rev 724 FW in 2019)

I would need to look in history of my firmwares, but surelly my easy entry was disabled on earlier firmware. first I never reached 726 (but 724? as part of recall in late 2019), also I'm more than sure, I got easy entry disabled in early 2019, I think I was in the time on 718 rev (orignally from factory I had 712 or something like that). I can possibly dig down precise information from MES logs on my old laptop when I undust it (haven't used it for a few years). Anyway, it is easy to get BCM updated by dealer, and actually most of people are updated, since (at least in EU), every body having 2.0 engine (which is 90+% of cars), got recall in Oct 2019 for update to 724 (fuel level indication).

Usually for older cars, obstacle they hit is having CSWM9.0, and for those who will retrofit other, it may turn mirrors will get crazy at ignition on (or at seat memory recall button) after fitting new CSWM. That is different topic though

for auto comfort? My experience with 1126 is different on updated cars (maybe not at bcm 724/726) but car which was pushed up well with also newer bcm fw then it left factory. Anotger example guy with 2017 car tried, was not working, he bought hvac 152A and got autokomfort. Talking about EU cars if that matters ( you know well that some functions do not work depends on country set in proxi - eg headlamps with wipers in my20 only when nafta country set, other funtons work ok, all looks randomly decided on market restrictiond in fca development)

should be good, SW is 29 so it means FW rev 1429 proven good for auto comfort.

I checked by curiosity logs from my old unit with 1429 firmware, and really although factory it had sticker with SW27 and no matter HVAC was never updated since factory, I have inside SW29, so that is earliest which in my experience should be searched for. I will edit my earlier post with picture, so people do not get confused by looks like factory updated HVAC FW, where probably it came from TRW with older (SW27)

Log from my factory original which was good
Climate control / HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning)
TRW climate control (Automatic)
ISO Code: 00 0A 40 5E 14
VIN code: ZAREAEGN4J7589506
Hardware number: FA003LOB - Ver: 02
Software number: SFA003_2941 - Ver: 1429

Just to make sure and also post informative for everybody - you had A3 value earlier? Asking as seen guys (eg. USA cars) where people blindly went to AB which was incorrect for their cars and caused issues/DTCs.

Easy Entry is setting bit 3 to high only, so if you had A3 then AB is right number. E.g. I had A7 (bit 2 is heated washer nozzle), so changed it to AF. USA cars depends on config will rather have A2 or A6 and so change to AA or AE respectivelly.

Below info for others, some may find handy repeated. Easy entry off requires CSWM in SW version 9.00 as well as infotainment firmware must be newer- in case of 2nd gen ETMs at least MV072, in case of first gen possibly MV002.010.043 will work (at least it is possible to get it in menu, but car where I tried in far past had old CSWM so was not possible to get it working anyway without changing CSWM (as far as I know nobody has a flash file to just update)).

You probably used ready setting in newer MES version, so it appeared in menu? If so no need to by hand modify byte 74. I never used MES iOS version. Does it work for you well, setting stays at set value (does not bounce back) and driver seat does not move away on exit? (if not then you have old CSWM)

No, its behaviur when ecus do not support. you must have other ecus old.whats are your icp and bcm firmwares? I guess etm updated since it shows setting.

#235 ·
I cant give you just precise information, but regardin icp feature came to market when 2022 or even 203c version was current. On BCM softwares for stelvio i do not recognize these too preciselly, but expecting also you drive on your 2017 factory. Just to make sure, chceck software in cswm, for this part numer should be sw9.00 but lets check this. Do you have means of upgrading your ecus sonewhere?

#237 ·
sure, only a few has on hand own update tools, only these who run rather commercially Alfa specialized workshops so they are in permanent need for doing updates.

I think 1st gen etms with new software mv002.010.043 (relesed when 2021 or so?) should work since they support this setting in menu. I never tested this though, and car where i tried had anyway old cswm 5.00.
