Hi guys,
Just want to gather more info on what is really required to activate the option to disable Easy Exit. From my understanding the bare minimum requirement is having the 2nd gen ETM with firmware 072.xxx.xxx and above installed. However, from what i can gather on this forum @ratix is the only person able to activate Easy Exit with just a procsi change only on a car that did not come with it from the factory. I am not sure if he is leaving out some other info, like maybe he also had to change a new Seat Module. No one else i can see successfully activate this feature by just changing the procsi.

@ratix
EMEA 2016 MY. Original Byte 74 was A7, he changed to AB and Easy Exit works

@stocki
EMEA not sure what year is your car. Your Original Byte 74 was A3, Changing to AB did not work for you. Easy Exit menu appears in infotainment. But it will not stay in the Off position. Automatically toggle back to On

My car
NFATA 2017 MY. Original Byte 74 was A2, I changed to AB and also AA. neither works. Easy Exit menu appears. But behaves a little different compared to @stocki, I can toggle the option ON and Off and they will stay at the set position on the infotainment. However, the seats still slides back on exit. I am on 085.xxx.xxx firmware

@JohnnyTheBeast mention he had to change the seat module to get it to work. I think the module you mention looks like picture below.

So I am trying to gather as much info as possible to see what exactly is required to activate Easy Exit.
Maybe we can start by asking members here with option to disable Easy Exit from factory to look at their Procsi Byte 74 and report what the code is with MY and region as well?

Thanks

Good news. The final step suggested by @Beta Romeo was a success! Everything works now.

Here is recap:
Requirements to have Easy Exit disable option in the infotainment screen

2017 MY:

1) New ETM with 072. Firmware or newer. Change byte 74 to AA or AB.
2) Change CSWM under the seat with Software version 9.00, after installing the new module, calibration of the slider is required by wiTech. (note: 7.00 was the original ver. that came with my 2017, I don’t know if there is an 8.00 out there. The new one I installed had 9.00, so there is a chance 8.00 might work if there is such a version)

Early 2018 MY:

1) Check to see which software version your CSWM have with MES. Change if necessary.
2) Update infotainment Firmware with 072 or newer and change byte 74 to AA or AB

Thanks to everyone who contributed, specially to @Beta Romeo and @ratix

I don't believe MES can do seat calibration. Maybe future version but not as of now. the latest version is 4.6

The seat module I have is version 08.02 along with 085 ETM. Changing to AA or AB shows the option in the screen but does not disable with either option. Original was A2.

does this mean software 09 is required?
that is a good question. after i successfully updated easy exit on my car, i was thinking maybe, just maybe, after changing the procsi we just need to do a seat calibration regardless of the seat module version (new/old) and it might still work. I did not try this as i already bought a new seat module. So if you can find a dealer or someone with wiTech that is willing to test this. it might be worth it to try before buying a new seat module.

Just a thought...

none of the Etm update procedures that I’ve seen call out a reflash of the CSWM. I wonder if a witech reflash of the module would provide software version 9. Otherwise I assume there’s some sort of hardware difference too?

If this is possible it would almost certainly be cheaper than buying a new module.

Bumping this from the grave...

I NEED to disable the seat slide as my daughter is moving into a bigger car seat. I have sw 8.02 in the seat module. I noticed that multiecuscan now had a "calibration" option in the CSWM module but has no notes on what it is for...

Have there been any recent successful attempts at using MES to calibrate and/or disabling with sw 8.02????

Bumping old thread. I installed a version 9.0 CSWM (bought used off ebay for cheap) in my 2017, and changed byte 74 to AB. Originally it was A2. Did the proxi and I now have a disabled easy exit option! (No more cutting my kids legs off.) I was wondering if anyone knew how to get the auto-on driver comfort options?
