Since the Estrema is Veloce+ I’d hope it remains. Don’t forget Estrema is limited in supply.
Also sharing them with 2021 and earlier Ti Sport.
I hope they at least leave LSD, but recall that pre-2020 or 2021(?) the LSD and Active Suspension were available together as part of the Sport Performance Package. Then AS became a stand-alone option, while the LSD was standard on the TI Sport. For 2022 the LSD was again standard on the Veloce (formerly Ti Sport) trim, but the Active Suspension went away altogether. And now they appear to be saying at the very least that the AS will only be available on the Estrema edition. It just seems like they're slowly phasing out the availability of performance parts on the lower trims, reserving them for the highest trim.

There’s probably still a shortage of the chips required for AS. Which would explain why it was QV only for MY22 and now adding a low production trim, Estrema.

AS is my only regret, but I don’t think I could give up Rosso Etna for it. Frankly, our roads aren’t that winding and most driving is to the store.

I do enjoy a good rumor, especially one which lifts spirits. Right now, with what we've seen and heard over the past couple of years my expectation are pretty low, but i'd be more than happy to see a 2-door Alfa, like a GTV or "TZ4" based on the current QV and Giorgio (and not limited to 10 units).

I don't buy this at all. Didn't Stellantis announce that Alfa Romeo will be fully electric by 2027? When in this calendar will the e-Giulia & e-Stelvio launch?

In my head-logic (feel free to agree or disagree), launching a halo car before the e-Giulia & e-Stelvio & the rumored 3-row SUV is a bad business decision. The point of a halo car is to draw attention to the brand and bring people to the showroom. (Fun fact - halo cars often lose money for the company at launch because the volume is so low.) So why launch it at a time when most of the line-up is long in the tooth and are much closer to the end of their lifecycles? If there is to be a halo car, it should launch after the line-up has been renewed.
I'd personally like to be proven right :D

But to your point about announcing a mid-engine (maybe hybrid) halo car before going full electric may prove to be a good business decision. I'm not saying Lotus is the model for business decision success; but they're still here and built a new halo car in the Emira before announcing their electric plans.

There are plenty of case studies too where launching a halo actually has a positive influence and product elasticity to other models--the Audi R8 is a perfect example of this. People weren't clamoring for Audis before the R8--they wanted to see an R8, however--and Audi complimented their lineup with much more affordable options that were still beautiful enough to make you want to buy, even though you couldn't grab an R8.

Acura tried this with the new NSX and bumbled it miserably. Not releasing a more affordable Type-S at the same time and staying with the same bland options, with only minor exterior upgrades ruined the whole point of releasing a halo. Seeing an NSX parked next to a base TLX with 17" wheels, boring styling and no performance upgrades made their halo a failure. And they ruined it even further when they prioritized cockpit refreshes (like removing the dual TV screens) in the RDX over flagship models--including the freaking NSX.

We already have face-lifted Stelvio test mules driving around in Italy, showing matrix full-led front headlights, Giulia is expected to surface a month later.

I live in the stomping grounds of test mules in central Ohio--I saw NSX mules 4 years before they were on showroom floors. And I'm speaking to the US Alfa market only--the European Alfa market has all sorts of things that the US/North America does not.

Most by now are hopefully aware that there isn’t a mid cycle refresh coming for MY23 Giulia’s/Stelvio’s… STLA announced this with their Estrema press release a little bit ago. The majority of the rumblings from the rumor mills I’ve posted have come to fruition (search through my history)…

Edit: PR from STLA -

Photos at the bottom of MY23 Giulia’s and Stelvio’s.

So, today’s rumors I’m selling go a little bit like this for those who think STLA has forgotten about Alfa Romeo and favored Maserati… We all are aware that the Tonale is AR’s big bet (outside of the Giorgio Platform which I rumored two years ago wasn’t dead, and it’s not); but there are bigger bets at stake. Here goes:
  • MY24: Stelvio refresh ONLY (hotter selling 2.0L gets the first shot)
  • MY25: Giulia refresh
  • MY26: HALO CAR MID-ENGINE RELEASE
  • MY27: ALFA GOES BIG ON AN SUV—POSSIBLE THIRD ROW SEATING BIG
No rumors yet on engine, hybrid, etc. or updates / special editions for the QV.

I feel a bit like Ron’s Rides at this point with no video; but I’m BUYING these rumors…

Any others heard similar speculation, or new things, please share here…

Seems like we spoke to the same source! :D I concur this is the schedule. Unless the world gets sick again.

Such a small circle Alfisti's are in :D

How do you release a halo car in less than 4 years when all of your new development money is on the STLA EV platform? Do you mean an EV halo?

I have no details on the power source--the way I understood it though, mid-engine or some variant of it may have been implied.

Like I said a few pages back.... I think the only option is to base it on the MC20 chassis. Nothing else I can see exists. It is the power unit I can't figure out.

So take the once Alfa exotic back from Maserati? Maybe a limited run like the GTAm.

Exactly....

So in 2 years time, do you make the Halo an EV and push your full electric range, or do you take an ICE and make a good bye car.

Either way I think it will sit above the MC20 in performance and price. Otherwise it just looks like a cheap MC20 which they won't do.

YES! And if true it will make the GCL that I ordered and then refused at the end of 2021 the right choice for me!
Why did you refuse it?
