I usually hear this when brakes are still cold; so mostly in fall/winter when doing first 3-4 full stops after cold start, then it warms up and no more creaking sounds from the back. I remember other Quad owners reporting the same.

 

Have you tried a bedding your brakes?

 

Is this on inclines when you start moving again? If so it’s the way it works and is the hill hold system.

 

No it’s every time the car stop, like a grabbing sound from the rear brake. It’s hard to explain but very noisy!

 

I've experienced it before, and I feel like it was on the original pads/rotors. I don't get it anymore, but I have bled my brakes a few times since then, so maybe the act of replacing and bleeding the brakes resets something.

 

This should not be happening on a nearly brand new car. Take it into your dealer where you bought it, and I hope they can easily fix this for you. Which brakes do you have, standard or CCB?

 

Steel since 2022 car.

I doubt this will fix it but go into infotainment and turn off automatic emergency brake. Just to rule out any malfunction in that.

 

If it’s an electronic sound then it happens on mine every time I stop. Seems like it’s the smaller parking caliper on the rear actuating to hold the car while stopped. Like when you pull the parking brake lever. Only hear it when the radio is off.

 

Really the small parking brake caliper you think gets activated every time you come to a stop? That seems super odd for it to do that, I mean you would see the parking brake indicator on your dash for one, and for it to be applied each time, I can't see that happening. Must be something else you are hearing....

 

It has to be the parking brake caliper. Its not in parking brake mode. I can hear it and feel it at the same time. When I release the brake pedal it feels like that caliper is releasing before I move forward.

 

Did you ever find out what this was? I’m experiencing the exact same sound upon fully stopping the vehicle. I just haven’t had time to have service take a look at it yet.

 

I just went to the dealership last week for my first oil change and I asked about the weird noise coming from the rear brakes and apparently they said it was normal and will go away after a while and more spirited driving lol.
Well I’m over 2000 miles now and the sound still there except when I’m in race mode suddenly No more sound… I wish the mechanic could have done something because for a brand new car making that kind of noise is not normal!

 

Actually in addition to the electric parking brake the rear pads rubber insulation plate groans when pressed by the brake caliper.
