Just noticed the other thread, thanks. You're right, it's not related to Takata, but tangential as an airbag deployment issue, as mentioned in the quote. Admins, feel free to remove if off-topic for the section.

 

I wonder if this is exactly my issue? For the past few weeks I have been getting a intermittent airbag light on my dash along with the parking brake/ seatbelt light and chime noise. Would all of this still be linked to the under the seat connector? Or a different issue?

I wonder what's causing it to be "certain" Giulias from the entire time it's been on sale in the US. Nothing shows up for my VIN on the NHTSA website, but I'm wondering if it's just too soon.

 

Mine shows up. Might be a matter of part lots used at specific times during manufacturing and installing. Might also have to do with Seats/sparcos vs comfort but I doubt it. Likely parts lots and when they installed those affected parts.

Checked yesterday and no recalls were listed but today it does show up for my 2018 QV.

 

Ahh poop, now it shows up when I put my VIN in.

 

mine comes up on the Alfa Romeo App as a recall.

 

I took my 2020 2.0l on the 3rd because every two or three months I would get an airbag alert. Got tired of it and wanted to make sure it was just an electrical gremlin. I just checked the recall and there it is; the day I took it in. I'm going to pick up the car today and I'll speak with them and see what the deal is.

Also the app now shows the recall dated July 10 (which it didn't this morning) with Parts Unavailable.

 

My Alfa Romeo App also shows that my Quad is affected.

Mine was in today for maintenance stuff and it came up when the SA checked me in. They don’t seem to have any parts & procedures out for it yet so I’m gonna wait.

Also put me in a 24 stelvio ti for the night since they couldn’t get everything done… I missed my paddle shifters instantly. Digital cluster didn’t like that the current gear display is buried lower right, really hope that can be moved around.

 

It says 3Q availability for the fix.

I had someone "kick" an umbrella under the driver-side seat- effectively breaking the hall-effect sensor connector. The car through all sorts of codes when started.

I bought the connector, pins and repaired it myself. The codes went away.

That being said - I would expect codes to be thrown if it wasn't properly connected. THAT begin said - I didn't disconnect the sensor AFTER the car was started - so maybe there is no error indicator of the issue if it is disconnected while the car is already running.,

 

I went to the dealer about the recall, so advisor told me that they are not fixing the recall yet because there is no parts. I will receive a letter on when to make an appt. From what he said is that they are changing out the belt buckles is what the issue is, but they are trying to see if a software update will fix the issue instead of changing everyone belt out. I did mention the green connector on the bottom and he said it had nothing to do with it that it was the buckle causing the airbag light

 

This sucks for sure.. attempted to buy a used Giulia.. stuck in a deal with no real timeframe to pick up the car.. I see Alfa pulled all new Guilia’s and Stelvio’s off their online sales info.. cripes, imagine being a salesman? Jeez

NHTSA paperwork shows August 22 as anticipated notification date.

 

Not yet, alfa dealer near me said it should be sometime in August.

This is all fubar in my opinion… we bought a car and and can’t pick it up till???? Who knows.. I feel for Alfa sales people

 

My 2023 Giulia Q2 Veloce is also on the recall. Nothing through the mail yet on a date to get it fixed.

 

The paperwork filed with NHTSA says August 22 for owner notification.

 

Hopefully they have parts for the fix. My dealership told me that it might be a while till they get parts after we get the recall letter…..

 

When you read the description of the fix it’s not really clear there are any parts required?
