Share what you did today with the Alfa Romeo Giulia community!

Example: Pick up the Giula from my local dealership and went straight to a detailer to apply paint protection.

Example: Finally got my window tints done, now I can't open my windows for a week

Example: Taking her for a nice spirited cruise on Mulholland Drive. Can't wait!

Anything goes!

Was it an easy swap?
It wasn’t easy, but not terribly hard. It isn’t plug-and-play. I had to swap the harnesses from my old center console and use the original DNA switch. However some of the harness was too short to reach the new locations of the cigarette lighter and USB hub under the armrest. I had purchased a spare harness that I cut up and soldered sections into the existing harness to make everything reach.

I was going to ask about the location of the 12v port; I had to buy an extra long cord for my radar to reach the center console storage area. Now I just run the extra wire along the floor with a lighting cable and a USB for my dash cam
New windshield! Satellite did the work, took about 2 hours, not "OEM" glass, but the same manufacturer and specs, so close enough. The original glass had the Alfa logo where the Pilkington logo is.

Here's the crack that I had:

How much? and how long did you have to wait for a windshield?
A Day at the Spa, by Alfa Romeo:

1. New windshield (this was really a few weeks ago but close enough)
2. New infotainment screen (haze, warranty)
3. New DNA knob (crack, warranty)
4. Serpentine service
5. New radiator (warranty)
6. Mopar combustion chamber cleaner
7. Oil change
8. Injector cleaner solution in tank

90% under warranty or insurance.

And my John4C wheels ship this week!

Safelite had the windshield in stock, total was $1236, but my deductible was only $500.

Today I used the centerline dark 5 hole touch up paint to fix curb rash on one of my wheels. Color was a great match. I think it's the only game in town, but still would recommend it. If only the shipping wasn't as much as the paint itself 😅
Finally got to see the dried paint during the day time and the color is great! It's obvious if you look close that there are dings, but there's no longer off color dings, lol

Looks great, nice job. I found a YouTube vid on the swap, seemed like a bit of work.
The weather forecast looks good so I finally got around to giving my car a much needed full combo cleaning and waxing. Washed, clay bar, iron-x wash and then a good polish.. I'm tired.. 🫨

What is your opinion on the Turtle Wax Ceramic wax?
The car looks outstanding!
Did you consider the Turtle Wax Pro to the Max Graphene wax?

Hey thanks, it's looking crisp!

Honestly, those weren't even out when I bought this Turtle wax. I didn't use any last year so I still have some left. I bought a few bottles at the time. Bang for your dollar it's very good. The key is not to use too much or it's a pain to buff off.
I did a quick polish with it today and it worked very well..
Just put 15mm spacers on, (I had 5mm and thought it would look good to go out a little more.) took them off immediately. Stuck out way too much. I swear 10mm would be perfect.

Finally got around to repairing a rock chip myself (first time ever). It was a deep chip near the front passenger door handle. Did two coats of paint (Rosso Competizione) followed by two coats of clearcoat. Had to wet sand the clear coat and nearly freaked out when I saw the impact. However after applying a compounding cream (Griots Complete Compound) a couple of times, then wax follow up, the result was pretty good overall. Result: chip is not visible to the naked eye unless you specifically look at a certain angle/light down the side of the vehicle. Pretty happy overall. Pics include before, after and tools used.

This probably won’t be a popular post, but traded the wife’s Giulia in for a new Mustang GT 5.0 Premium. Brought it home and parked it in the garage next to my 955 WHP Camaro SS. We’ll miss the scalpel level precision of the Giulia and it’s beautiful looks. But we won’t miss struggling to get parts and crappy AR service departments. And adding power to this 5.0 is child’s play…so many 5.0 guys in the 10’s with just bolt ons… whereas I felt like trying to mod the Giulia didn’t yield much benefit. Guess it was just time for something different for her. Will definitely miss the AR family…everyone has been great! 🍻

Been gone for two weeks at the body shop getting some deep scratches worked on a rear diffuser replaced due to marring after some sort of running over of something.

Had no idea it was there until the double h-pipe was installed. Any rate, took for a quick spin to the grocery store after a little wipe down.

Love that feeling when you get them back and they're all fresh. Looking good dude.
Went on a drive yesterday for some fun, its an awesome winding drive through the mountains and past Lake Mead, you then come out onto the freeway. I think it took me an hour or maybe less, I will have to time myself next time.

Here is the route

Went into the office for the first time since the pandemic yesterday so I showed off my car to a coworker who is a car girl.

She sat inside as I started it up, and I could tell she didn't seem that impressed with the sound. Then I opened the exhaust, and her eyes opened as the cold cat procedure started. Then I revved it for her; I'm not in the habit of doing that with a cold engine, but certain situations call for it, and this was one. Due to the way I parked, I was up against a back wall; so I revved it up to redline and the ensuing pop, bang, and slight overrun crackle caused her jaw to drop to the floor!

Highlight of my day as as expected, greater NYC area traffic was too much to enjoy the car at 8am and 5pm :(
