my throttle control indicator has appeared 3 times in last 9 months. Dealer says to drive it more to prevent this. Anyone else have this problem? Mileage is 2906. Got the car new in 9/2017

I don't think the dealers advice is going to make this go away. Do you have a cheap code reader that can clear codes? I would start writing down what the code is, and hopefully it is always the same code or codes. And then you can probably find out on this forum what condition that code corresponds to. It could be a lot of things, but one culprit could be the electronic gas pedal. If the computer does not think that the pedal has achieved an unpressed "closed throttle" position, then it will throw a code. Whatever it is that is causing your code(s) is very likely only one thing in particular, and any competent dealer should be able to sort it out.

Do you have another dealer nearby?

You can contact FCA or @AlfaRomeoCares here on this forum.

Hello scottypres,

Are you thinking you'd like to get a second opinion? I am available via direct message and can get this over to a Case Specialist for further handing if interested.

Classic way to get the customer to go away. Recommend something (anything) that the customer can do which gives him hope of fixing the problem. The task you give must be open ended like "drive it more". This should keep him busy for a few weeks and by that time you might have that new job at the Ferrari dealer.

In all fairness the car doesn't get driven much clearly...so I have to ask, have you had any of the RRTs & TSBs addressed?? or the new T57 for the non-QV Giulia???

MDriver,
I'm not sure of your language. I'm new to the Alfa. Can u explain?
Your car and pretty much everyone else's was subject to software updates (RRTs & TSB's) that effected many of the drivability issues that some member have experienced... and the latest update is the T57.
As you don;t really drive the car that much you may want the dealer to see if you have had those software updates as they may address your concerns..the dealer will(should) have a list of them.
keep us posted!
