hmm would they charge the ex vat price? Would think they'd have to charge the $490+delivery.. guess we'll find out

love this:
Easily installed in under 10 minutes requiring no specialist tools or mechanical ability and absolutely no physical modifications to the engine.
would like to see some dyno sheets too and it all plays out might bury one in my parents suitcase ;)

This is a bit of a game changer. The 2.0T is underrated to start with. I've seen dyno pulls at about 270HP at the wheels. If this plug makes the extra 60HP it's in M2 territory with possibly AWD!

It might push 0-60 4.5 seconds being so light. Now someone has to figure out how to disable ESC.

I'm pretty sure it works. I have a JB plug for a VW GTI and it makes a HUGE difference while basically keeping the warranty intact.
It's not a ECU tune. It's a sensor cheater. It intercepts the signals from the sensors faking for example less boost so that the ECU asks
for more. This is exactly what I would buy for a 2.0T.

very much agree, i've read some indifferent / some good reviews on this thing already. I'm on the 'too good to be true' fence at the moment. Would love someone else to be the test pilot ;) Do like it doesn't mess with the warranty though / put in take out

I reached out to TDI via email and received this reply below. Who wants to be the first giunea pig!? Haha

"I have checked with marketing and unfortunately we have no videos of
anything for that model.

We can supply systems for the Giulai, below is an example of such a system.
Delivery to the USA is £34.99

The box for you would be our newly released CRTD4 Multi channel petrol
tuning system. This would take your vehicle from 276BHP to 339BHP and 400Nm
to 468Nm of torque. This system is currently on offer for £316.66

kw-400-nm-295-lbft/crtd4-multi-channel-petrol-tuning-box-chip

The systems are plug and play so can be easily reversed.

Please don't hesitate to contact me either by email or call on 01245 392255
if you require further assistance.

HELP... just went to open my hood so I could remove the engine cover to take pics of the connector for TDI (they requested just to confirm the plug is the same as their euro model) HOOD RELEASE NOT WORKING!!
Does anyone have a pic or willing to provide one so I can forward in the interm until i get to dealer?

here's some feedback from a decent tuner in CT.. they haven't used these models yet but say they have customers asking about them/going to bring them in so a well informed opinion. Cant wait for the results!

I will start by saying that these types of boxes are typically just
signal modifiers. They block signals from the factory sensors in order
to trick the ECU to run more boost. They are just a glorified boost
controller. They will not optimize fuel, timing, and other parameters
which need to be changed in order for the car to run properly and safely
at higher power levels.

They are claiming 63hp and 68nm at the engine - I don't see these gains
to be unrealistic. The car would benefit in better ways with a proper
ECU calibration, though. Typically these boxes result in drivability
concerns and just not running as smooth as stock. I would also mention
that most companies are claiming peak gains meaning highest power gains
in the dyno graph - not necessarily the gains at maximum power RPM.

Just found this thread. I am interested in the end results and the path along the way.

Keep in mind that this unit is what's called a "piggy-back". It modifies the signal from the ECU without doing any safety checking.

Me personally, I'm holding off for a ECU clone. Yes, it will cost more probably three times as much, but that will include some level of 'peace of mind'.

Giovanni, I really hope they sort this out and you're happy with this in the end. Thanks for blazing a new trail.
