I had the MAP sensor changed the other day. Unfortunately that did not help. The check engine light came on after a short drive with the same error code, P2172. The light came on when I put the gear leaver in "P", which to me is a bit strange. That has been the case on the last two occassions when the check engine light has come on. How can that be?

I appreciate your response and consideration to me as a customer. I live in Sweden and I am in touch with a local Alfa Romeo workshop about this matter. They have been taking good care of me, although the case is not solved yet. There is also an ongoing case with FCA technical support. But thanks again for your concern.

My car has the same fault, my dealer has tried numerous times to fix it, but none has worked, last time they tried updates, did you get your car fixed & how was it resolved?

I had the same issue. I was looking for parking and parked in the front garage while trying to figure out what to do and it just randomly asked a mechanic that was outside speaking on his phone. He told me to go to the nearest petrol station and buy something called STP and I did. My problem was solved with £13 and the DNA selector was working again.

Same problem , fixed mine by Checking the engine oil level on infotainment , notice oil level was missing a quart. added the quart of fully synthetic oil . Started the car and error went away. I had this error before and the dealer was just telling me they were clearing the code. hope this works for you as well.
