Spring mods = Porsche GT3RS killer!

89773 Views 412 Replies 44 Participants Last post by  Avnyc11
And so it begins...
Custom fender flares, 305s in front on 10.5” wheels, 325s in rear on 11.5” wheels, camber kit giving -2.5 camber and new ECUtune, high flow cats, 3” exhaust, carbon intakes giving 650hp. And still very streetable.
BC Forged will have my custom wheels made in about five weeks. Will have all the rest of the other work done by then. Should be a fun spring for me but I imagine a lot of expensive two door sports cars owners are going to be pretty shocked at the track!

GMS and Squadra Tuning combo is one of the better, if not the best on the market. So your choice/decision is certainly a good one. I've met both owners in person and they seem to know their business extremely well, not to mention customer support, which was always great in both cases.

And kudos to Alfissimo for bringing their products and customer support to the US market.

P. S. You can also expect new suspension (and other) products for Giulia/Stelvio from GMS in 2023.

And so the widebody Giulia QV project continues with big improvements 😃

My fantastic metal guy is enlarging my fender flares, so that no matter how high I fly in the air and hard I come down the oversized tires won’t touch the flares.

Basically, we took off all of the flares, cut them in three pieces shortened them on the top, and then lengthened them on the 2 sides. This gives me an extra inch of clearance, which is about what I need, considering how hard I drive this car.
So when he is done, I’ll take them to the body shop to get them scanned and then wrap them with carbon fiber tape and put them back on.
We are also designing custom fender skirts to keep the rocks and gravel and water from flying up into the cars body. The stock felt ones are just not cutting it plus we had to try and modify them, and it never really worked out. Really looking forward to this because I did have water get into one of my headlights and that was expensive. Keep an eye on that seal on your headlights. If it gets loose even a stock car could get water in your headlights. Of course, when it happened to me, it was pouring rain at the race track and they had a big skid pad set up and I was sliding around like a maniac in race mode reaching 3rd gear. It was epic.😃
And now that I’ve kicked Ideal Race to the curb and got a proper ECU tune from Alfissimo I will have not only more power, but in my opinion, a much safer tune. And I won’t have to worry about any of that. Locked up ECU BS that Ideal Race does.

I also have the nice Alfissimo and Gale Motorsport camber kit that not only gives more camber easily but also replaces that OEM loose bushing with a much stronger one. So now finally, I will have a great alignment along with how much tighter suspension.

Plus there is some other surprise goodies coming.
Part of me thinks I should just turn this into a track only Karen spears it out but it’s so much fun driving this thing on the road too. With my KW DDC PnP coilovers the ride is amazing even better than stock in all driving modes.

more to come😃

More progress on further mods on the widebody Giulia QV. Ordered a beautiful carbon fiber GTAm wing from Eric at Madness. Should have it in three weeks.
also, started fitting the custom fender liners made out of black ABS plastic. The original felt ones just weren’t strong enough plus we wanted more clearance for the monster 305/325 tires I have.
Really excited to get it on the track within a month with the new Squadra tune and the GMS awesome
camber and suspension upgrades. Should be an incredibly tight suspension now.

Nice to get out to the race track again in the Giuilia QV widebody.
The new tune from Squadra is awesome. Much better than the Ideal Race tune because you don’t get CEL’s like cylinder six misfire and other problems like locked up ECUs he will not clear but enough about tweaker tunes.

What I really want to talk about and I really noticed was the much tighter suspension I got from the GMS Gale Motorsport front control arm bushings and the camber kit that I bought through Jason at Alfissimo International. The stock control arm bushing is quite sloppy. The GMS bushing tightens that right up!

We all know the Alfa Romeo driving feel even OEM it is totally amazing and this even brings it to another level.
My Giulia almost feels like it has a carbon fiber tub now😃 it’s really hard to explain how nice it is maybe too tight for some people.
As far as the new GTAm wing goes it seem to plant the rear end more but hard to tell with the other susession mods. But I think it’s mostly for looks and it does look great.

Here is the tracking video from last weekend with the Giulia QV.
I’s a long video but it shows that you have to be patient to safely get through a gauntlet of slower cars.
But on lap 6 I have some fun with a fast GT3RS.😃

Glad you are happy Tom. The GMS caster/camber kit is the only kit on the market that solves many problems in one package, great to hear it is doing its job. Ciao!

Does the center flap of the wing act like a gurney flap?

Also is it my eyes or is the left outter exhaust drooping?

Either way, love the car!

Exhaust needs to be tightened it’s drooping.
But I have no idea what you’re talking about exhaust acting like a gurney flap?! Do you mean the rear wing?
If so yes it looks that is design

The OEM GTAm wing is adjustable. Are any of these after market wings doing that? I played around with mine last time I tracked my car and I felt it made quite an improvement in grip. I extended the front splitter into the race setting and had the rear wing in the max down force setting.

No, none of the replicas adjust like the OEM. Static.

It is interesting that many of the replicas have the Gurney Flap which I think was first seen on the GTAm prototype car that was showing up all over Europe a few years back. Then when the Sauber bits showed up the wing was adjustable and the Gurney Flag is gone. Must be a story behind that...

The Koshi GTAm wing I have is not adjustable.
I’m not sure it gives enough downforce to really want to adjust it but maybe on a regular Giulia or Giulia QV it could be helpful for balance.
My widebody design already had a ton of downforce both front and rear so adding this little extra on the back didn’t really do a lot, but I’m not through testing it. I know that my top speed is down a little bit on the racetrack and the car feels extremely planted but again I did some suspension work too so it’s kind of hard to tell.
if you look back into this post, you’ll see the aerodynamic work I did underneath the car also and all of that has helped.
Probably what amazes me the most is now this car handles like it’s on rails and yet has 4 inches of ground clearance and full suspension travel and with no tire rubbing. Also driving the car in natural mode on the street is so soft and nice.
I have not yet loaded it up with four people and taken it to the racetrack yet but I really don’t think there’s going to be any rubbing at all now that I made my flares bigger and cut the body away more.

Yes sorry I meant the wing flap. That's what I get for late night browsing the forum 😂
