Just made a deal to purchase a Q4 Ti. In reading several threads about all of the RRT/software updates -- and how important many of them are -- I am looking for advice about ensuring the dealer performs all current RRTs before delivery. I did the deal through texts with the sales manager over the weekend, so the F&I guy will be writing up the paperwork this coming week. I'm buying from an out-of-state dealer and having the car shipped, so that complicates things a bit.

So I'm wondering . . .

(1) Is it reasonable to demand that all RRTs be performed before delivery?
(2) How can I tell that the updates have been done? (E.g., the ECU update results in four bars on the oil temp gauge; the infotainment version number should be 002.009.43)
(3) Any other advice to make sure the car is as up-to-date as possible when I get it?

Thanks for any thoughts.

Congrats. I'd 100% ask them and I'm quite sure they'll do and under warranty / should do it...so doubly worth it. Doesn't take long either (at least in my experience). Not sure on how to check the version, have to defer that one

I suspect you'd receive a unanimous result if this were a poll.

Ask for confirmation in writing from the dealership that all RRTs for your VIN have been performed. To verify, ask for the VIN # and perhaps submit it to AlfaRomeoCares. They can run the VIN# to see what RRTs are due on your vehicle.

I echo the above posts. You should ask for them to all be run, and you can contact Alfa support to verify they've be installed.

Absolutely on RRT pre-purchase install.

Alfa Romeo has really amped up their notifications on these issues.

On the post-sale processes, Alfa Romeo is also proactively reaching out to owners to see if they need any assistance scheduling an appointment for updates.

That's encouraging to know. How many here have heard from them?

I PM'd ARC last week and haven't heard back from them yet.

A few weeks ago my dealer told me that Star has told them to perform all RRT's on all cars in their inventory so I assume they are being done.

On the other hand, I wouldn't assume anything at this point and get verification from AlfaCares.

Hi Chipshot,

Sorry for the delay, we are out of the office on weekends and must have missed your PM before we left on Friday. I just responded!

I received your response. Sorry if I sounded impatient. Your timing was fine. There are a couple of additional items that need addressing. I'll PM you about them later today. Thanks.

It would be foolish for them not too, unless they are slow and want your car back to work on.

I'm buying from a dealer several hundred miles from where I live, so I won't be servicing the car there.
