Anybody know why the rear calipers are on the rearward edge of the brake discs? All other cars, as far as I've ever seen, are made with the rear calipers on the front edge of the disc.
My 2004 Subaru STi has Brembos as well, and the rear calipers are also mounted toward the back - similar to the Giulia.
Checked my 2005 Viper truck, and the rear calipers are also mounted toward the back.
My 1993 Viper and 300ZX have the rear calipers mounted toward the front.
Most likely caliper placement is dependant on suspension design and component location, but on my QV the rear calipers are low.
Watched the video. Nice.
I've seen a few of his videos before. Cool kid.
My take away:
Packaging and costs for most cars.
For sports cars, weight distribution and cooling ducts, and, of course, cost and packaging.
It's a play between weight and balance, and suspension room. Remember, the Giula has the new Alfalink rear suspension. This chassis section involves a rectangular subframe-like structure. There may not have been room in front of the axle and hub.
