Whats the common stance on taking your car in for rattles? I have been taking mine in for a door rattle since delivery and I feel like the service department has had enough of me. Now I have a small fan squeak and I am hesitant to bring it in. I pay way too much attention to minor details.

I had a headliner rattle, took it in and they removed the headliner and replaced the Velcro that holds it up. That solved that rattle less than a week later a new tempature dependent headliner rattle appeared. Waiting till my 10k Service next month to address it.

Hi jzchen,

Sorry to hear about this! We would recommend going on a ride a long with a service technician or advisor so you can demonstrate where/when you are hearing the rattle. If you need further assistance during your appointment please send us a PM with your VIN and let me know.

Thank you! I want to see if my wife notices it too. (She's sometimes not as observant as my son and I.)

I think my rattle originates from the rear sunroof area of the headliner. Was that where yours was?

What I try to do is provide as much information as possible to the technicians. For example, provide picture showing the problem area and an accurate description of the type of noise, rattle, buzz, squeak etc. Then describe the exact conditions that the issue appears at, i.e temperature, speed, gear etc. Hopefully helps them get directly to the point whilst avoiding driving your car countless miles in order to find the issue.

The original issue was the area between the front and rear openings had come loose. This was easily observable as it was loose and had dropped down a inch or so. The new rattle is much more isolated. It seems to be coming from around the B pillar on the passenger and sounds like a clip or fastener rattling. It's worse at night or in the morning before the sun comes out. Once the sun is up and the car heats up it tends to go away. At times I wonder if it is the glass of the roof rattling.

I have a similar sounds. Mine, I think, is from the sunroof or something in the headliner. Definitely over my right shoulder.
I've had this rattle for a while at and would hear it at every major bump. Took me a while to pinpoint where it is. People in the front would hear it from the back and people in the back would hear it from the front. Finally tried to drive with the sunroof open and the rattle was gone so guess that's where it is. Will take it to the shop.

This morning was very cold 15°F and I noticed a loud clicking noise from the sunroof/ headliner area that coincided with nearly every bump in the road I hit. Opening and closing the sunroof and the sunshade did not alleviate the problem. It's annoying, but minor in the grand scheme of things. I'm always hesitant to have the dealer start tearing into things to fix NVH issues because there's always the possibility of new technician induced problems due to service error or just plain bad luck.

I also have a rattle from the rear passenger compartment. Not sure whether it's the LATCH tether cover (anchor is in use for child safety seat), the fold down rear seat mechanism or something else.

I have a noise from the rear seat and I believe it is the latch covers. They seem to be unsecured. Try some tape.

I have a rattle from the gauge cluster. If I apply pressure downward or forward, it stops. I took the car to the dealer for a different issue (which was fixed), and I mentioned the rattle from the gauge cluster area. They couldn't duplicate the noise. Of course when I left, within 5 minutes it was back! Funny thing is that the loaner Giulia they provided me had the rattle, but 10X worse than mine! I may try the construction paper idea. BTW, mine is not the leather dash.

3000 miles in. I have a mild squeak coming from what sounds like inside the driver's door. Luckily it is not that loud.
I also have a rattle in the drivers door. Its not to loud but annoying. if I tap on the lower portion of the door I deffienitly get a rattle type of noise.

Pacifier in the car seat? :grin2:

After several visits to the dealer, they were finally able to duplicate the rattling. Now they can’t make it stop and are considering replacing the whole headliner.
Before you give the go-ahead, ask whether replacing the headliner requires removing the windshield.

aenima396 - It’s been a year since your post but I’m wondering if your issues were resolved? I’m experiencing the same issues on my 2018 TI Lusso.

I also have rattles. One is coming from the gauge cluster surround and two are coming from the driver door at the arm rest and above the arm rest. I have a slight rattle near the overhead lights but that isn't often or loud. A loud one is coming from the passenger side, possibly the B pillar. I thought it was the seat belt but I am not so sure about that now. On another note, my screen is starting to develop those micro cracks.

I am bringing the vehicle in this weekend so hopefully they can do something.

Thanks I'll keep this in mind. I still love the car but it definitely isn't faultless
