One of the beautiful things about the Giulia is the very quiet and solid feel of the cabin, this characteristic makes it a fantastic cruiser although there is a downside, if a rattling occurs then you can hear it very clearly and very quickly it becomes extremely annoying. Since the first week of ownership I faced the following problem: If the car is parked outside on a sub 10degC temperature and driven in the morning it will produce a rattle that originates between where the speedometer housing meets the infotainment screen. This rattle becomes a true racket noise when you apply some load on the engine between 2800 and 3200rpm with a high gear ( 6speed manual transmission). The engine and exhaust system seem to create a frequency excitation at that particular engine speed range that creates resonance in the cabin so anything that can possibly rattle will rattle then.
If the car in parked in the garage or if its left for a whole morning in the sun then it doesn’t rattle. If I place my finger on rattle source area the rattle stops.
I am tempted to take the car to the dealer but I’m worried that in their effort to solve this rattle they might generate a couple of others (I’m sure most people are familiar with this scenario). Have any other Giulia quadrifoglio owners had this type of rattle? If yes then was the dealer able to solve the issue?
Thanks and regards
