I have had my 2018 Giulia Ti Sport for 10 days and love it! Just this morning I hear a rattle in Dash every time I go over a bump. Everything is working great. It is driving me crazy. Help!

Is it the car's fault or your fault? Did you look in the glovebox and driver's storage cubby? Give more detail

Hello njmander,

Although we're glad to hear you're enjoying your new Giulia, we're sorry about the rattle noise. Feel free to send us a direct message if you decide to have this looked at by your dealer.

I have had my 2018 Giulia TI Lusso for 3 months now and started noticing a rattling sound coming from the dash going over bumps. It really takes away from the quality of the car and is incredibly frustrating. I took it to the dealership not only did they tell me they didn’t hear anything but they said they’ve never heard of the Giulias having this problem. I’m happy to know I’m not the only one who’s noticed this. I’ll try the suggestions in this thread and hope they work!

Did you find out what it was?

Thanks

Mine has developed a rattle in the dash. It sounds like it's coming from behind the heater controls. It's not the passenger seat belt. It's not the heater. It's not anything in the center console or glove box. It's not sunglasses. Has anyone else had this and was there a fix?

Originally the rattle was low enough that it was masked by radio/media sound, but now its loud enough to be annoying even with the radio on. I dread having to take it to the dealer for this.

My roof rattle is really loud when temperatures were below 10F. It's not so bad at balmy 50F.

You can try to identify anything obvious by pulling the panel that holds USB connector out and look around the area behind it and behind ac controls...use trim removal tools on both sides of the panel and pull towards yourself....

I found the procedure in the service manual to remove the USB panel, the switch pod and the center vents. It doesn't look too bad. I might give that a try.

Early on it was discovered that thin objects can slide between the cup holder lid and the USB panel. Perhaps something slid in there and is rattling now?

Mine has the rattle. But, it's drowned out by the one in the headliner/moon roof.

Hi everyone,
We can imagine why this may be frustrating. Please feel free to send us a private message if you would like any additional assistance if you decide to have your dealers look into this. We're happy to help!

reviving this thread. @njmander @Verrilli have you guys solved issues?
after 4 visits to dealer for same problem & extended test drive with dealer tech.
i was told main issue is from gauge cluster & needs to be replaced but it will take another 2 weeks to get hold of cluster.
car's been at dealer since 10/17.

No. Mine seems to go away for a while if I open and then close the cup holder cover. Must be something floating behind the USB plug plate. I couldn't figure out how to remove it.

Regarding the front console plate with a USB plug, the service manual says:

  1. Using a trim stick or equivalent, lift at the bottom side of cover (1a) to release the retaining clips (1b) and remove
The clips are on the left and right ends of the panel.

Yeah, I tried that. It felt like it was going to break so I stopped. Has anyone been successful at this?
