Has anyone hardwired a radar detector yet?

I'm about to pull domelights and the plastic behind the mirror - thought I'd ask first.

Anyone have pics or a wiring diagram for switched 12v power/ground up there?

Thanks!

Have not done it yet. Though, have explored the installation a bit. I typically place my counter measure equipment nearer to the dash pad (not toward the headliner).

My wire route looks like it is going to be through the passenger side dash area into the A-pillar plastics and into the passenger footwell. Once the pass side floormat is removed, there is a large cover which houses a lot of the car's fuses and so forth.

Great, thanks. If you've done it already, do you have any issues with voltage interruption when the car goes auto shut-off at stoplights?

When the engine comes back on, does your detector go through boot-up again? For context, I have a ValentineOne.

Thanks

Any hints, tips or photos about getting the trim behind the mirror off without breaking it. Prying the map light assembly out of the headliner without damage. Or removing the top The the A pillar trim where it joins the headliner without damage would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Where did you tap into power source? did you tie into a fuse or run the line off a main source?
I used the fuse box in the passenger footwell. I tapped the top row, second from the left, IIRC. I'll try and dig up a picture for you.

I am interested in knowing this as well
I'm not using my V1 anymore ... I should probably sell that ... but my Escort Max 360 hasn't shown a perceptible difference in range detection in this car vs my previous car without the IR windshield. I'm sure there's a difference, but for my driving habits, it hasn't been an issue so far.

I am in the market for a new car. The Giulia is one of my top choices. Not sure if I can live without headsup display or AC/ventilated seats. Will find out after test drive. lol

But another thing I like is my rear view mirror mounted radar detector with invisicord.

Has anyone done this to their Giulia??

FYI Photobucket does not work with this Forum. Read the thread below for DIY Mirror mount radar detector.

I bought my Giulia Ti Sport Q4 about 2 months ago and now have around 1500 miles on it. That same day, I jumped on Amazon and bought the wireless Escort Solo S3 radar detector, which came the next day! So far... I absolutely am in love with my Giulia and am more than pleased with my wireless Solo S3 purchase! It is wireless!!!, comes with your first battery, doesn't have a large screen/large profile, it is simplistic, sharp and clean looking, works great and is easy to use! If I may add my 2 cents, if you're not willing to spend the money for a Valentine - than go with a wireless detector, you'll like it, take my word for it (after some research, I found the S3 to be the best/nicest wireless detector out currently.) (you don't have to hard wire a radar detector into a 50K+ automobile in 2017... do ya?) My S3 has been on for about 95% of the miles I've put on the car and the battery indicator reads 3 of 4 bars still. I take it off the windshield and turn it off whenever I go into any place and it fits nicely in the center console compartment! (the S3 also shuts itself off after 15 mins of the car not in motion) It has saved me twice, for sure, so far and those 2 times have saved me a few hundred bucks... I look at it as the S3 has already paid for itself. Simply put -- it looks clean and sleek, it just works and it really is just a novelty guys - don't over think a radar detector!! Just trying to help...
